ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (October 23, 2019) — Born to a Chinese father and Jewish mother, and raised in the multicultural metropolis of Toronto, saxophonist Allison Au found music as a young child. Her work is a concoction steeped in the tradition of jazz but skillfully laced with elements of classical, pop, R&B/hip hop, Latin, and world music.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (February 20, 2019) — Professional juggler Greg Kennedy goes beyond throwing a few balls in the air. He blends creative flair with a scientist’s sense of wonder, impressing audiences with his amazing kinetic sculptures and unique object manipulation style.

Jason Vieaux, a highly praised classical guitarist with accomplishments ranging from symphony soloist to a Grammy Award winner, will provide outreach engagements in Quad City schools and community sites from Nov. 26 through Dec. 7, with a solo recital in Davenport on Dec. 8. 

Singer-songwriter Mandy Harvey, a former contestant on “America’s Got Talent,”will be in residence Oct. 29 through Nov. 3. Her visit is part of year’s Visiting Artist Series from Quad City Arts.

Aside from her musical work, Harvey is an author, lecturer, a sponsored Kala brand ukulele artist and an ambassador for No Barriers USA

Turtle Island Quartet will be in residence Oct. 1-6 through this year’s Visiting Artist Series from Quad City Arts.

Winners of the 2006 and 2008 GRAMMY Awards for Best Classical Crossover category, Turtle Island is notable among string quartets for their unique focus on improvising and playing in jazz styles.
