Continental Congress 2009

The Continental Congress 2009 concluded its 11 days of deliberating on Saturday, November 21. The work product that is emerging, titled "Articles of Freedom," is a testament to a measured, thoughtful, and lawful process that all Americans can be proud of. The more than 100 delegates that convened from 48 states set out to end the violations of the Constitution through which the People's administrative and judicial processes have already been exhausted - i.e., exercising their First Amendment Right to Petition for a Redress of Grievances with no legitimate response from the federal government.

The resultant document, "Articles of Freedom," is the proverbial line in the sand that, if 3 to 5 percent of America embraces it, can restore Constitutional order in America. The "Remedial Instructions to Congress & the States" as well as the suggested "Civic Action" for the people to take to enforce these instructions illustrate that we are in our Republic's 11th hour. If we are to remain a free people, it is time to take action beyond two-party elections, beyond unheard petitioning, and beyond rallies and marches. Those efforts have not worked.

On whichever side of the media-manipulated left/right paradigm you find yourself, it is undeniable that every branch of government and every major political party has failed to uphold their oaths of office. The expansion of government programs, massive spending of money we do not have, and unlawful wars are patently unconstitutional and violate their oaths of office. The result is economic ruin, less national security, and an ever-escalating police state. We are over-extended militarily across the globe, and our stature as a nation of innovators has been reduced to that of debtors and mindless consumers. This is not due to the failure of capitalism and free markets. It is due to our own lack of vigilance that allows for the advancement of corporatism under the guise of democracy.

In full disclosure, I have been involved in the organization and implementation of Continental Congress 2009. I am excited about this popular-sovereignty approach to remedying what is wrong in America, as any right that is not enforceable is no right at all. And if we don't stand up and begin to exercise our rights to hold our servant government accountable, then our natural rights, guaranteed by the Bill of Rights, will ultimately atrophy and die. These "Articles of Freedom" are more than a patriotic feel-good declaration. This is the culmination of dozens of years of exhaustive research, and thorough and legal petitioning for a redress of grievances to avail the People of their constitutionally mandated consent of the governed. Silence by our servant government is an admission of guilt. And so it is time to instruct our servants on how to remedy what we have allowed them to ruin.

I have met many people who just don't care about such matters. Their lives are not dramatically impacted enough at this moment for any of this to matter. They are more concerned with who won the game or the latest celebrity scandal. Their thinking is that all the debt and ruination of our country's infrastructure and ability to produce anything of real value is a problem for future generations, not ours. I got involved because I vehemently disagree. It is our responsibility to future generations that we exhaust all possible peaceful remedies to restore America to its constitutional governance that made us the most innovative and prosperous nation on Earth.

We have forgotten that it is our civic duty to ensure our servant government plays by the rules that created our Republic in the first place. It is our own fault we are in the predicament we now face as a nation. The good news is that the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, if followed, will remedy what ails America.

To that end, I encourage you to review the "Preamble" and "Civic Action" sections of the "Articles of Freedom" that Continental Congress 2009 authored, printed below. Watch the Web site ArticlesOfFreedom.us these next few days as the full text of each area of "Violation" and "Instructions to Congress & the States" are posted. Go to CC2009.us/archives to watch videos of the presentations and deliberations of the Delegates. Consider taking the pledge and becoming part of the 3 to 5 percent of Americans that enforce these instructions so that the modern-day revolution of ideas that have served us so well in the past are no longer taken for granted.

Articles of Freedom of Continental Congress 2009

November 21, 2009

Preamble

In defense of a free people, the time has come to reassert our God-given natural rights and cast off tyranny.

Let the facts reveal - the Federal Government of the United States of America, which was instituted to protect the rights of individual citizens, instead - threatens our life, liberty, and property through usurpations of the Constitution; and emboldened by our own lack of responsibility and due diligence in these matters, has exceeded its mandate, and abandoned those founding principles which have made our nation exceptional;

Our servant government has undertaken these unconstitutional actions in direct violation of their enumerated duties, to the detriment of the People's liberty and the sovereignty of our Republic;

Over many years and spanning multiple political administrations, the People who have, in good conscience, attempted to deliberate our grievances and voice our dissent against these offensive actions through both petition and assembly, have been maligned and ignored with contempt;

The people of the several States of Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming, justly alarmed at these arbitrary and unconstitutional actions, have elected, constituted, and appointed delegates to meet, and sit in general Congress in the city of St. Charles, Illinois.

Whereupon these delegates, as duly elected representatives of the several States, have gathered in defense of divine justice, liberty, and the principles of limited government, and we stand in clear recognition of the supreme law of the land - the Constitution of the United States of America.

Therefore, We demand that Government immediately re-establish Constitutional rule of law, lest the People be forced to do so themselves; and we hereby serve notice that in the defense of Freedom and Liberty there shall be NO COMPROMISE to which we shall ever yield.

Civic Action

Delegates to Continental Congress 2009 and others from each of the several States shall serve this document titled, "Articles of Freedom," with its Remedial Instructions, on each United States Senator and Representative in their offices located in their respective States, placing them on notice that We the free People of America believe them to be in violation of their Oath of Office and the Constitution for the United States of America.

When a goodly number of millions of American people agree, we will therefore withdraw our financial support from the federal government, in a lawful and constitutional manner, and implement other responsible civic actions until all violations of the Constitution for the United States of America CEASE.

Line drawn in the Sand, Will You Help Hold It?

Very good article from many aspects, including why many citizens are only passively interesting in what is happening.

One constructive ccoment, the term 'several states' is used repeatedly, my understanding of what that term means is ' less than a majority, not even 50%, certainly not 96% of the states'.
In most cases the average reader will not take the time to actually count the number of states (by my count 48)and understand that the number of states committed to this project is 96% (48 of 50).
Sugest changing 'several states' to something more bold, a lot more definite, maybe 'super majority', but it is even greater than that number, so why not use '48 of 50 states or 96%'.
Keep up the good work
Bill

Todd, many thanks for expressing the spirit of cc09 so succinctly--and for all the work you did in furtherance of same. It was an honor working with you and all those who sacrificed their time to attend.

In regards to the term "Several States" - your understanding of this term is incorrect. If you look at the declaration and resolves of the original Continental Congress in 1774, as well as the U.S. Constitution, this EXACT same language was used, and it referred to the entirety of what eventually became the United States. This was nothing more than something that I chose to include as an homage to previous works, to our founding fathers, and to recognize the great history of our nation.

This is wonderful work, and extremely well writen. I am so proud of all our delegates that participated. A question on the financial withdrawal of support. How do we legally do this without having the IRS board up our business?

They are our servants and are to listen to the will of the people. We have a group in the white house (our White House)now dictating to us, set up over many years, we can see. That does not give them authority. We have our rights given us. First of all - unless we give our Lord God the Glory, Worship Him, and follow Him, we cannot expect back what we received under Him in the beginning of the U.S. Constitutiion and Bill of Rights given from Him. He was worshipped and thanked then. Very few will stand up and call our people back to the Lord God. Or even acknowledge such, as tolerant to those trying to take over.

Our young people are taught from Pre school through Univ/Col/against the rights of the parents by forcing stuff on the children that is offensive to our God. Some people say: everyone is doing it. The immoral lifestyles, etc, and do same. A reason we are where we are. Love the sinner back, hate the sin. Get the people back into reading their Bibles & get to know Our Loving Lord God and will see what people went through when they turned their backs on our Lord God - to bring them back to Him, to SAVE them eternally.( not one's rewritten to include Mother God, etc. deleting words God inspired. God said, I will take you under my wings LIKE a mother hen. Let's let Him.

Keep up the Good work.

I'm looking forward to the coming "fight". Its time we finally stood up and stopped those who have proved so blatantly that they have no respect for those who put them into office. It will be interesting to see how this all goes down. Those who have pushed us into this situation should not only be removed from office but charges filed and prison terms served for their acts. The act of "treason" being brought against many.

In response to the religious views such as those stated above, I would like to remind everyone that we have "freedom of religion" and that means ALL religions. Not just Christianity. There are many belief systems out there and each brings their believers to the Divine in Its own manner. There are many Paths to the Divine, it doesn't matter which one is taken, just that one is chosen. Having moved from the Divine is, indeed in large part, where this country has gone wrong.

When the "Civic Actions" are presented, count me in to begin implementing them where I can!

I believe that this cc is going to have a very positive effect on this government. I also believe that the machinery in this gov. is a very enormous, and corrupt wheel that will be very difficult to slow down much less stop, in a short time. It is only that with united effort and perserverance that we can succeed. This is a good start but with much more work to be done. May GOD bless us and give us the strength to see this through.

As a visitor from from Germany, I observed delegates from 48 States communicating about their rights to hold their government accountable. A positive outcme will set precedence for all other nations who yearn all along for freedom. The rest of the world can only dream about a gathering of this kind. "The line in the sand is drawn" and from now on citizens should support what Bob Schulz so diligent started, to communicate in every state that the beginning to restore the U.S. Consituton is passionately achieved. Spread the confidence, "We the People" waited so long.

Response to Susan Carroll
"How do we legally do this without having the IRS board up our business?"

ONE way to do it is to ensure your own self-sufficiency for an extended period of time (stay out of debt, have cash for necessities, food, etc.) and then go on strike. If there's no taxable income, there's no income to tax. But there must be a mass movement of people ready to do this if it is to work.

Circle of Democracy + Idiocracy
written by Jason Kakert, December 07, 2009
Great article, unfortunately I think our society is experiencing a combination of Alexander Tyler's Circle of Democracy, and Mike Judge's Idiocracy.

Idiocracy:a dystopia where advertising, commercialism, and cultural anti-intellectualism run rampant and dysgenic pressure has resulted in a uniformly stupid human society devoid of individual responsibility or consequences.

Circle of Democracy
From bondage to spiritual faith;
From spiritual faith to great courage;
From courage to liberty;
From liberty to abundance;
From abundance to complacency;
From complacency to apathy;
From apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage.
