El Laberinto del Fauno is absolutely devastating! The faun isn't the only thing it has in common with Lion, Witch and Wardrobe. El Laberinto is the dark image of Wardrobe. What does war do to children who are not tucked away comfortably in an English countryside with an equally comfortable British mythology to soothe them? What does war do to the fantasies of children who have seen too much of it, and to their lives? - Jeanette
