I'm done listening to the Republican and christian fundamentalist talk about values..and that's all they do...TALK about them. Being pragmatic is a bad thing? To have a separation of church and state it is necessary to look at the issues facing our country and the world with a certain level of pragmatism. A pragmatic view point is hopefully one not tarnished by emotion and personal bias. It considers that we live in a land where Freedom of Religious choice was founded and yet Christian fundamentalist want our leaders to only consider their own spiritual and personal belief. They believe that this country was not founded on freedom of religious choice. They believe it was founded on Christian belief. It's important to note that democrats are being attacked by these same individuals who call themselves Christians because they don't see Democrats as being 'on the team'. You don't see all the other religious groups attacking Democrats because of their choice to not put their own personal spiritual beliefs above those in whom they govern. After all, aren't we supposed to judge an individual by their actions...not their words.

The christian fundamentalists are accusing Democrats of just giving 'lip services' to christian values, but I say that the Democratic party's decision to focus on everyone's freedoms, everyone's health care, everyone's education and consider everyone's religious and non-religious beliefs is 'living' the core of what christian values are...but not just christian values. These are almost exactly the same as the core of BUDDHISM, JEWDIISM, MUSLIM, HINDUISM, CONFUCIANISTS and nearly all the other religious and non-religious beliefs. Everyone's beliefs should be RESPECTED in this country, not just TOLERATED.

This is not a battle of Christian Fundamentalist and Democrats...this is a battle of ignorance and fear against intelligence and understanding, and if you laughed at that statement I say to you.."What's so funny 'bout peace, love and understanding?" - Justin Holstein
