As long as I know what I'm getting myself into, I've got nothing against brainless summer blockbusters. They serve their purpose. That being said, I was truly ashamed of myself for sitting through this idiotic piece of trash...and I saw it for free! I could've used 2 1/2 hours of my life doing something much more exciting, like arranging my sock drawer or defrosting my freezer. - Sell-U-Lloyd

I was a big fan of the "Transformers" cartoon-as well as the animated movie that came out in 1986-when I was younger, but the first movie sucked ass and I'm sure this new one is as stupid as everyone says it is.

Reasons I'm right:

1) Teenagers (or young adults...whatever) will never save the planet from anything. Ever. Even when they're older. So let's stop kidding ourselves.

2) CGI sucks. I'm sick of it. "Terminator 2" was awesome, but now it all looks fake.

3) Speaking of CGI, that was my biggest complaint with the first "Transformers." Towards the end, during the big battle scene, it got to the point where I couldn't tell what the hell was going on. It just looked like a bunch of video game crap moving rapidly on the big screen.

4) PG-13 movies suck, too. No blood + no guts = no fun. Plus, it seems like they dumb down the dialogue in many cases so 5 year olds will understand what's going on in the film (and people wonder why this country is getting stupider...). Just look at "The Dark Knight." It could've been really good and something special, but it wasn't. They had the cast and the overrated director (sorry Jeff...the guy once made a backwards movie...big deal...) to pull it off, but instead the studio forced a bunch of storylines that could've waited until the third sequel down our throats to make the film more "epic" and we were left with some contrived moral dilemma that no bought with a straight face...all for $$$.

5) Speaking of $$$, Michael Bay is a pirate hooker who should rot in hell. Why? Did anyone else have the sudden urge to drink Pepsi products or play XBox after seeing the first "Transformers" movie? I did. That's because they snuck in subliminal advertisements in that film (product placement...is that the term I'm looking for?). I used to hate Michael Bay because every single one of his movies sucked. Now I hate him because he's participating in corporate brainwashing techniques to help make us all diabetic and lazy. Where does it end?

In conclusion, I trust Mike's judgement. If this movie is anything like the first one, it's probably crap of the lowest caliber. If we all stopped giving them money, they'd stop making retarded shit like this.

P.S. I thought the guy who left the other comment is being a little harsh on Mike for this review. I've been reading his stuff for many years now and the only time I can think of where I thought he was a little unfair towards a film was his review of "Observe and Report" (which I loved and found servely underrated). I didn't think Danny McBride's cameo was intrusive. I also don't know what else they could've done to make the film more menacing. But that just suggests Mr.Schulz craves more blood in his pictures. And who could begrudge someone for that? But I did appreciate the way he praised the film's editing...

I really don't care for your critiquing. I usually will read your comments & the movies you bash I will watch & the ones you rave about I don't. Having said that, your comment about the open part of the movie stating that the military time of 22:14 while being in China should not have the sun up, I find hilarious. The U.S. Military, when stating the time would be using our time. 22:14 is 10:14pm our time which would make it 10:14am the next day in China. The sun would be up. I did you really expect Oscar contention when going & seeing this kind of movie. You can't go into a movie where giant robots turn into cars & such & expect some sort of heart felt motion picture. Normal people know what to expect when they buy a ticket for this kind of movie. They don't expect an Oscar type movie...only critics do! - AtkAtk
