All of the squabbling and nit picking over rules in the Republican Party misses the big picture and deflects attention away from a serious crisis of freedom in the United States. The daily news contains loads of information on the Obama administrations brazen attempt to bypass our Constitution and turn the US into a European Socialist country that will severely curtail the freedom that we have enjoyed in the past. The citizens of this country in many caucuses and primaries have voted and Mitt Romney has emerged as the peoples choice. It is vital that all of us Republicans seriously get behind the candidate of the people’s choice and work very hard to get a Republican elected to the White House and Congress. If Barak Obama is reelected, this country will never be the same and our children and grandchildren will be doomed to a miserable life of an overbearing government. I have six grandchildren and I am more concerned about their future than I am about fly specking rules that have already been reviewed and deemed legal by the State Republican Party. This election is too important for the Iowa Republican Party to be fighting over trivia. - Roger Cole

Roger, please enumerate the "much false information" that you claim this piece contains. If there is something that has been mis-reported, we will gladly make a correction.

Regarding the caucus vote on candidates, the article accurately outlines how that vote was not binding, it was simply a straw poll vote, (and I will add, with no chain of custody for the ballots) and the primary votes binding were the names of the county delegates elected at that precinct caucus and filed with the county auditor (and technically the Central Committee precinct co-chairs).

Why should any particular candidate's supporters be denied the same opportunity as every other candidate's supporters to participate in the delegate process? If you want the beauty contest (that the GOP could not even tally accurately) that is the caucus, to dictate the allocation of delegates towards a particular candidate, then work towards getting the caucus process changed, rather than attempting to malign those who are working within the established party rules and state statutory law. - Todd McGreevy

The editorial contains much false information and presents a distorted picture of reality. The story is the Ron Paul supports are trying to highjack the Iowa Republican Party so they can control all delegates. This tactic only harms the party and makes a sham of the caucus where citizens voted on candidates. Judy Davidson should be commended for her very honest leadership - Roger Cole
