Folk rock troubadour Jesse Marchant headlines a Moeller Nights concert at Davenport's Triple Crown Whiskey Bar & Raccoon Motel on June 19.

Touring in support of the musicians' most recent album Hard Times & White Lines – a 2018 release that American Songwriter awarded three-and-a-half stars and called the group's “finest set yet” – the honkytonk musicians of Whitey Morgan & the 78's play the Rock Island Brewing Company on June 14, proving why Glide magazine labeled the band “among the very best among the small legion of those carrying the outlaw country banner these days.”

Appearing as rare summertime guests in Quad City Arts' Visiting Artists series, the Rock Island-based organization welcomes the New Orleans jazz ensemble Jazzy Ash & the Leaping Lizards to the Quad Cities, with the popular touring artists and celebrated children's musicians bringing their smoky yet distinctly family-friendly styling to a half-dozen area venues between June 15 and 19.

Revered noise musician, performance artist, and multimedia art maven Lucas Abela brings his most notorious project Justice Yeldham to Rozz-Tox on June 9. To avoid the risk of burying the lede, I’ll just say right away that Abela plays giant shards of broken glass as his primary instrument, pressing his lips straight onto them and blowing like some mutant trumpet sparked into harsh noise fury by his electronics.

A night of black metal in various forms arrives at Rock Island's Rozz-Tox on June 5, as Baton Rouge-based outfit Barghest shares a bill with Wyrm Chasm from Dallas and local group Everlasting Light.

The familiar sounds of “Peggy Sue,” “Maybe Baby,” “Oh Boy,” “Everyday,” and many other iconic '50s-rock hits will fill the Circa '21 Dinner Playhouse on May 30, with the Rock Island venue presenting two performances of the exhilarating touring production That'll Be the Day: A Tribute to Buddy Holly & the Crickets starring Todd Meredith, the leading man from Circa '21's 2008 musical Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story.
