Princess Diana Exhibit Extended to Jan. 26

Diana, A Celebration, which chronicles the life of the late Diana, Princess of Wales, now on exhibit at the Putnam Museum and will remain on view through January 26, 2014, by popular demand.  The exhibition presents the life and humanitarian work of one of the 20th century's most remarkable women through nine galleries containing 150 objects-ranging from her royal wedding gown and 28 of her designer dresses to family heirlooms, personal mementos, paintings and rare home movies and photos. www.putnam.org

Winter Break Activities

Mallards Game on Friday

Chocolate Festival

FREE Eagle Watches this Weekend

The Mississippi River Visitor Center on Arsenal Island, between Davenport, Iowa, and Rock Island, Illinois, offers free eagle watches and Clock Tower tours every weekend on Saturdays and Sundays on January 4, 5, 25, 26 and February 1, 2, 8, 9 at 9:00-10:30 a.m. and 12:30-2:00 p.m.  For required reservations, call 309-794-5338.  www.missriver.org

The German American Heritage Center will be holding a Community Open House on Sunday, January 5th from 12:00pm-4:00pm with FREE admission! 1:00 meet and greet with Eric Braeden, German American of the Year Winner and television star! 2:30 Video premiere: The 1848'ers in Davenport! Theatre - A Christmas Story

Bald Eagle Days

Bald Eagle Days is the feature celebration on January 10-12 at the QCCA Expo Center located at 2621 4th Avenue in Rock Island, Illinois.  It is the largest event in the Midwest dedicated to the United States' national symbol of freedom.  Hours: Friday 4-8 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Admission is $5 for adults and $1 for kids. www.qccaexpocenter.com

The Mallards will wear special edition Wild affilate jerseys when they take on the Arizona Sundogs on Saturday, January 11th at 7 p.m. Immediately after the game those jerseys will go up for bid in a live auction to benefit the Genesis Health Services Foundation. In addition, the first 1,000 fans age 12 and under through the doors for that game will receive a free Mallards replica youth jersey courtesy of Scott County Family Y and Two Rivers YMCA.  www.myqcmallards.com

QCCVB's Newest Member

The Bucktown Revue is an old-fashioned radio variety program, performed live in front of an audience and recorded for webcast. In the tradition of such radio programs as "A Prairie Home Companion" and "The Grand Ole Opry," the family-friendly Bucktown Revue celebrates Mississippi River Valley folk music and culture through a combination of music, storytelling, poetry and humor.
