Gallery Hop!

MidCoast Fine Arts and The District are hosting Gallery Hop! from 6-10 pm on Friday, December 6th.  Gallery Hop! showcases local artists in over 20 locations that include galleries, restaurants, shops and hot spots in downtown Rock Island. It's fun, casual, and it's where you can find unforgettable items. Jewelry, photography, woodwork, glass, paintings, book signings, sculpture and performance art will all be featured. Talk with the artists, indulge your senses, shop and watch live demonstrations.

Christmas in LeClaire

The charming village of LeClaire is transformed into a scene from a Norman Rockwell painting with its delightful shopping, trolley rides, activities, bazaar, Strolling Santas and Christmas characters, and breakfast with Santa.  Christmas in LeClaire on December 6th-8th is where Santa comes to shop.
Christmas in the Village

36th annual Village of East Davenport Christmas Walk on December 6th-7th.  Wander store to store throughout the Village for holiday cheer and treats.  Listen to live Christmas music, ride on the Village Trolley, check out the new nativity scene with live animals, and heckle Scrooge as he tries to ruin the Christmas Spirit.  New this year in the theater are activities for the whole family--awkward family Christmas photos, children's craft activities and musical entertainment. In the historic fire station Santa will be seeing the kids for photo opportunities and Christmas requests!  At 9 pm on Saturday night, a festive firework display caps off the Christmas Walk.6-9 p.m. each night.

Aledo's Holly Days

Get into the holiday spirit during the Christmas Walk in Aledo and enjoy living windows, music, live entertainment, refreshments, and trolley and horse drawn sleigh rides on December 6th-7th.  It begins on Friday night with an Aledo Main Street Electric Parade at 5:30 p.m.
National Cotton Candy Day

Whether you call it candy floss, fairy floss, or cotton candy, this spun sugar treat is a lot of sticky fun. Watch how it is made and sample some on Saturday, December 7th from 10 am-noon and 1-3 pm at the Family Museum in Bettendorf.

Theatre - A Christmas Survival Guide

This intimate revue takes a wry and knowing look at a stressful season. Armed with a copy of A Christmas Survival Guide, the characters charge into an urban holiday landscape searching for the true essence of Christmas.  The Quad City Music Guild shows are Thursday-Saturday, December 5-8 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Prospect Park Auditorium, Park 16th St. and 30th Ave. in Moline.  Call 309-762-6610 for tickets or

Holiday Wine Walk

The Holiday Wine Walk is 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, December 7th at Bucktown Center for the Arts in Davenport. Purchase wine glass decorated by a Bucktown Artist and choose to taste from a selection of six unique wines. Then shop the galleries for unique holiday gift ideas.  On Sunday,  December 8th, Bucktown Center for the Arts open Sunday 12:00pm to 4:00 p.m.

Sausage Saturday

Try delicious sausage samples from local and regional retailers! On Saturday, Dec. 7th, enjoy samples from Haun Meats from Bier Stube! On Saturday, Dec. 14th, enjoy samples from Jerry's Market from Moline! From now until Dec. 22, the German American Heritage Center in Davenport will have products from Bavaria Sausage Company in Madison, WI. While you are here, shop our Christkindlmarkt for great gifts for the entire family!

Mallards Games this Weekend

On Friday, December 6th at 7:05 p.m., watch the Mallards vs. Brampton Beast. Fans will be able to purchase $1 beer and $1 hot dogs at iWireless Center concession stands during each of those Friday tilts.  Then the Mallards join in the spirit of the holiday season by accepting Toys for Tots donations at their games Saturday and Sunday nights, December 7-8 at 7 p.m.  Fans will receive $3 off a ticket to either of those games for each new toy they donate at the iWireless Center.

QC Symphony Orchestra Dec. Concert

The Quad City Symphony Orchestra's December Masterworks concert presents a perfect pairing of fresh inspirations with romantic tradition. New to the Quad Cities' stage will be Alasdair Neale, leading the Quad City Symphony Orchestra as they accompany Concertmaster Naha Greenholtz in her performance of Jennifer Higdon's 2010 Pulitzer Prize-winning Violin Concerto. Greenholtz will be only the third violinist to perform this work. The concert will be performed on December 7 and 8. Saturday evening's concert will be held at the Adler Theatre in Davenport at 7:30 p.m., and followed on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at Centennial Hall in Rock Island. Christmas Tea at Quarters One

Quarters One on Arsenal Island opens for a Christmas Tea & Tour on Sunday, December 8th at 3 p.m. hosted by the Colonel Davenport Historical Foundation. Attendees of the Christmas Tea will enjoy savory and sweet delights, several types of teas, and a guided tour of the historic Quarters One mansion decorated for the holidays. Tickets are $25 per person, and may be purchased online at or by calling Judy Tumbleson at 309-786-5980. Only paid attendees of the Christmas Tea will be able to tour Quarters One.

It's a Wonderful Life

Sunday Advent Tour

The Figge Art Museum in Davenport will be offering Advent Tours on Sundays at 1:30 p.m. beginning this Sunday, December 8th through December 22. Each week a different docent will be giving a themed tour of specially selected artworks from the permanent collection related to Advent. No reservations are required and the tours are free with paid admission or membership.

Condensed Account of Christmas TV
In the spirit of giving, ComedySportz veteran, Rick Davis, creates a unique entertainment experience to help raise money for Gilda's Club Quad Cities and QC Paws.  This one-man show on Tuesday, December 10th at 7 p.m. is a salute to the holiday specials many have grown up watching and grown to love.  The performance at The Establishment Theatre in Rock Island is a retelling of the stories, which includes vocal impressions Davis is known for portraying, poetry, interpretive dance, and audience interaction. Branson on the Road

Those seeing a Branson On The Road - Christmas Style show can not only expect great Christmas music, old country favorites and amazing instrumental abilities, but also plenty of hilarious comedy every step of the way - in a holiday, Branson-style for the entire family. Branson On The Road will be performing one evening and matinee show on Tuesday, December 10th at Circa '21 Dinner Playhouse in Rock Island.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra

On Thursday, December 12 at 7:30 p.m., the Trans-Siberian Orchestra celebrates their first 15 years of touring with an encore and final performance of their multi-platinum rock opera, "The Lost Christmas Eve" at the iWireless Center, 1201 River Drive, Moline, Ill.  Tickets are available at the iWireless Center Box Office, online at, charge by phone at 563-326-1111 or Ticketmaster outlets.

Lucia Nights

Bishop Hill invites you to join in the Lucia Nights celebration on Friday, December 13 and Saturday, December 14 from 6-9 p.m.

Attractions include free musical performances in various locations in town. Businesses and museums will have a Lucia girl serving cookies. Around the village, each building will have a single candle in each window, and sidewalks will be illuminated.   On Friday, December 13, the Lucia Nights begin at 6 p.m. with the Lighting of the Park Christmas tree.  On Saturday, December 14, there will be an Old Fashioned Barn Dance at the Colony School beginning at 7 p.m. The Rusty Pickup Band will be performing.  Admission is $5 per person, and beginners are welcome. No partner is necessary. Both Friday and Saturday night, the Bishop Hill Community United Methodist Church will host the annual Soup and Chili Supper beginning at 4:30 p.m. until they run out.

The Nutcracker

Join Ballet Quad Cities for a magical holiday adventure as Clara and her Nutcracker Prince battle the evil Rat King, journey through an icy winter wonderland and are treated like royalty in the Kingdom of the Sweets.  You won't find a more entertaining Nutcracker anywhere. Continue a family tradition or begin a new one this year at a performance of The Nutcracker featuring live music by Orchestra Iowa! Performances are Saturday, December 14 at 1:30pm & 7:30pm and Sunday, December 15 at 1:30pm at theAdler Theatre, 136 E. 3rd St. in Davenport. Prior to the matinee performances of The Nutcracker, join Clara at 11:30 a.m. and hear the story of The Nutcracker and how she has confidence and courage to overcome adversity in the face of the evil Rat King to save the Nutcracker Prince!  Enjoy a light lunch and cupcakes, storyteller, meet some of the professional dancers and take advantage of photo opportunities. Posada Navidena

The Quad City Botanical Center, 2525 4th Ave. in Rock Island, Ill., hosts Posada Navideña, a traditional Mexican Holiday Celebration, on Sunday, December 15th at 1:00 p.m.  This free event is open to all.  Enjoy free customary food, hot chocolate, music and the breaking of Piñatas sponsored by Hola America English/Spanish newspaper.

River Bandits FREE Frost Fest

The QC River Bandits invite fans, families & friends inside for a day of holiday savings and fun activities at the sixth annual indoor Frost Fest, a free open house on Sunday, December 15th from 11 am-2 pm.  The family fun will include games, arts, and crafts, holiday cooking, a movie showing, and a visit from Rascal the River Bandit.  Admission is free to the indoor Frost Fest, although the River Bandits encourage donations, all of which benefit the Bandit Scholars Program, which pays the entire first year of college tuition for two QC area students.
