Hello!
Although the Frank Lloyd Wright Exhibition closes this weekend at the Figge, two new exhibitions will open! View larger-than-life Catrina dolls and community ofrendas when the Day of the Dead Exhibition opens tonight.   This evening will also feature Thursdays at the Figge, where you can expect music, free snacks, salsa dancing, and specialty cocktails in honor of the opening. Return to the Figge on Saturday for a  lasting impression of America when 1934: A New Deal for Artists Exhibition opens.

Join us for this season's LAST Friday Live at 5 event tomorrow in the courtyard featuring Busted Chandeliers, too!
With the final days of September upon us, it's time for Bucktown's Final Friday featuring a book release party in Subtopia Studios and the must-see Title Wave Exhibit the guys at General Assembly Tees have been hard at work on.  If you've not been to Bucktown in awhile, there is  A LOT of new great art to enjoy and purchase!  Start your weekend off right during Final Friday with music by Subatlantic, beer from Front Street Brewery, books, food, and more.
Help raise funds for a new Catheterization Lab suite by checking out the styles of autumn during the Friends of Trinity Medical Center Celebrity Style Show at the RiverCenter.   Enjoy a luncheon that features vendors with merchandise ranging from jewelry to potter to gourmet cookies and more. On Saturday, you can start your morning off at the Quad Cities Prayer Breakfast.
For all you tea lovers out there, be sure to venture over to Gallery 114 on Saturday for the 3rd Street Tea Party! Taste a variety of teas, both hot and cold, while perusing paintings, jewelry, and pottery by various artists. You can grab dinner at Antonella's or Boozie's Bar and Grill next door.

Speaking of 3rd Street, you may have noticed The Office Bar & Lounge recently opened!  Their official grand opening is still on the horizon, but their unique atmosphere and excellent service is already drawing plenty of visitors.  Check it out while you're in the neighborhood.
Keep in mind that Bix Bistro's 5 Course Oktoberfest Dinner highlighting a portfolio of Ayinger Beers will be next Thursday. LECLAIRE, IOWA

The LeClaire Lions Club presents “Apple Fest on the River” in LeClaire, Iowa on the Levee and downtown area on Sunday, October 13, 2013. It is a fun, family event that features apples, apple cider and many homemade apple food items including pie, strudel, and scones. Various other baked goods that will be available include cupcakes, cake pops, cookies, artisan bread and snack items such as crepes, cotton candy, granola, and kettle corn. Vendors will also be selling jams and jellies, pumpkins, copper jewelry, handmade canoes, glass garden art and much more!

The Quad City Antique Car Club will be showing off their cars, and a dunk tank will be part of the fun at Dudley’s Cottage and Gifts.

There will be a “Kids Only” area for a small fee that includes face painting, apple beanbag toss, cookie decorating, and jump house. Free eye testing for children age 6 months to 5 years is available at the Apple Fest. “Kids’ Sight First" testing is performed by Dr. Lisa Nix.

Apple pie baking & pie eating contests, apple sliders and many more specialty items will be available at downtown businesses along with wonderful fall shopping and dining. For more information about the apple pie baking and pie eating contests or to enter in advance, go to Aunt Hattie’s at 102 S. Cody Rd. in LeClaire.

The Lions Club’s involvement in LeClaire includes various community improvements. The Club has made donations to the LeClaire Police Department, Fire Department, Community Library, Levee improvements, Parks and Recreation, and they provide a $1,000 college scholarship to a local high school student every year. They also assist those in the community in need of glasses and hearing aids. Proceeds from the Apple Fest help further the LeClaire Lions Club’s community efforts.
