Proceeds benefit the HAVlife Foundation and the youth of our Quad Cities. Head back to the RiverCenter on Saturday to see the QC Rollers take on the  Farm Fresh Roller Girls!  Also, please note that due to expected snow fall, all City parking ramps will be FREE after 5 p.m. tonight through the weekend.

GAHC discussion For those interested in photography, head to the German American Heritage Center this Sunday to hear exhibit curator Christine Powers lead a discussion on the brand new exhibit Eye of the Beholder: The Photography of Bradley W. Schaupp. Powers will discuss the photography by her grandfather, explaining the images he captured throughout his life.

 

wine class Looking for some comfort food and wine? Join locals at The Phoenix for a new Wine Class on Wednesday. Learn basic wine knowledge and see classical food pairings by Fred Smith. Afterwards, stay for dinner and take advantage great wine specials.

 

greensky bluegrassA fantastic bluegrass quintet known for top-notch festival, club, and theater shows across America will take the stage tonight at River Music Experience! UofI Faculty Exhibit The University of Iowa Faculty Biennial Exhibition opens this weekend at the Figge. This new exhibition features an assortment of work such as paintings, sculptures, photography, and more by renowned UI Studio Arts professors. Tonight, catch a film in the beautiful Figge theater featuring over 70 actors, directors and producers in the poignant and sometimes funny documentary, Reel Black Love.

 

Minus Six Rock bands don't always need a guitar and if you love Ben Folds, then don't miss the piano pop sounds of Minus Six and the Curtis Hawkins Band on Friday in the Redstone Room at River Music Experience! If you're looking for some indie rock with a mix of heavy metal, catch Mutts with Post Mortems & Satellite Heart on the first floor at RME.

TRIVIA NIGHT FUNDRAISER, MARCH 1, 7 PM
Funding the Butterfly Garden at the Quad City Botanical Center

Support your community by supporting the butterfly garden located at 
the Quad City Botanical Center. Trivia Night is Friday, March 1, 2013, 
at the Davenport Elks Lodge, 4400 W Central Park Ave, Davenport, IA.  
Doors open at 6:00 pm and play begins at 7:00. $10 a person, up to 8 
people per team. To reserve a table, contact Lesley Webster at 
309.267.8030 or by email at LiveWell@wendysbutterflygarden.com.

Raffle items and a 50/50 drawing will be available. Teams may also
purchase ten Mulligans (for free answers) and one Double Down
opportunity to double the points in a single round. Bring snacks to
share with your table; purchase beverages there.

Team Wendy was formed to support our dear friend Wendy Petsel and her
family. Although Wendy has let go of this life, we continue to honor her 
memory with the same joy and enthusiasm for life that she carried with 
her. As part of her legacy, we have established a butterfly garden in 
her name at the Quad City Botanical Center. It is funded almost 
exclusively through donations to Team Wendy.

MOLINE, IL –WQPT and the Moline Foundation invite you to participate in River Vision 2020. This innovative project is designed to bring together citizens and community leaders to discuss ideas to enhance the Moline river front along the Mississippi River.  “We want to hear from everyone in our community on the ways they think we can best use our riverfront as well as the Floreciente neighborhood and the Moline Centre in downtown Moline,” said Joy Boruff, Executive Director, The Moline Foundation.

The remaining community forums take place on, Thursday, February 28 and Thursday, March 14 from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm at the Western Illinois University Riverfront Campus, 3300 River Drive, Moline, IL. Dinner is served. Everyone in the Quad Cities region is invited to participate in one or all of the community forums.

In addition, students from Western Illinois University and members of The Network, are creating videos on their ideas for the riverfront and everyone is invited to view them and vote for their favorite by going to wqpt.org/rivervision2020.  Community voting will begin February 25 and continue until midnight on March 25. The winning video creator receives a $500 educational stipend from the Moline Foundation.

There will be a cash bar and pizza, but feel free to bring your own food!

 

There are ten rounds of ten questions based on generic and engineering trivia!
