Brent Craine announces release of ‘You Have a New Friend Request’

Debut book inspired by posting about faith on Facebook

CUMBERLAND, Wis. – After swearing off Facebook for Lent one year, Brent Craine decided to begin using the social media platform to post daily reflections and scripture readings, to which people began responding. When followers began to request a book based on these posts, “You Have a New Friend Request: Do You Accept?” (published by WestBow Press) was created.

The reflections in Craine’s book cover a variety of topics from thoughts on what the world might be like without Christians to being satisfied with what one has rather than being jealous over what someone else has. Prayers accompany many of the reflections to help readers pray to God about the issues they are facing.

“It is my hope that people of all walks of life will be able to read these thoughts, and gain some insight,” Craine says.

N. B. Grant announces publication of ‘A Journey to Freedom Through Prayer’

New book contains variety of prayers, focuses on healing and preparation for the future

MANVEL, Texas – The prayers and inspirations for N. B. Grant’s debut book, “A Journey to Freedom Through Prayer” (published by WestBow Press), came from the author’s years of searching for a way to heal the hurt and pain of losing her father and experiencing years of emotional abuse and depression.

The book’s purpose is to help people heal so that they can move forward by letting go of their issues – both past and present – through prayer as Grant has. Prayers featured in the book helped Grant forgive herself, forgive others and allowed her to move forward in seeking God to determine her purpose and the future of her life.

“This book is relevant because we all have issues, and not just from the past. I believe that everyone has been through something difficult – whether it’s the loss of a loved one, a job, a friend, or some other adversity or trial. I think a lot of people have been through something that they are either holding on to because they can’t get past it, or avoiding because it's too difficult to face, or had some experience that has caused them pain that they need to release.”

Daniel Evans enlightens readers on his personal journey with God

Author announces release of his debut book, ‘Jesus Is the Light in This Dark World’

DES MOINE, Iowa – Daniel Evans’ debut book “Jesus Is the Light in This Dark World” (published by WestBow Press) shares his personal testimony of God transforming his life.

To encourage believers, and convert nonbelievers, Evans sheds light on how God has changed his life by telling readers about his experiences with “miracles, unbelievable visions, amazing blessings, multiplication of food to the homeless, and many other awe-inspiring events.” As part of his aim to bring people closer to Jesus, Evans also includes steps in his book about how to create an intimate relationship with Jesus.

“The greatest fears are death, rejection, failure, loneliness, money, and the unknown,” Evans states. “The world is dark. Jesus is the answer to all these fears, and the Light.”

In addition, Evans says that all net proceeds of book sales will be donated to Christian homeless shelters.

An excerpt from “Jesus Is the Light in This Dark World”:

I witnessed bolts of lightning between Tim’s palm and my shoulder!! Wow!! It felt somewhat like electricity flowing throughout my body. … At that moment, I didn’t know if I was dead or alive. So I paused and placed my hands on my knees and pinched my knees with my fingers. I could feel my hands pinching my knees. Then I knew that I was alive! I knew that I wasn’t asleep or in a dream; I was awake, it was real.

Jane Gage Govoni shares her journey of ‘Faith, Love and Hypnosis’

New book is about author’s story of healing, resilience after stroke

OXFORD, Wis. — Jane Gage Govoni was told that she had lost a third of her brain due to a rare brain disease that caused a major stroke. She was not expected to live and if she did, it would be in a nursing home and there is no medical treatment. She came up with her own treatment plan and healed. Many people asked her how she had healed which prompted her to write “Faith Love and Hypnosis: An Inspirational memoir of the dance between stroke and healing” (published by Balboa Press).

This book may appear to be Govoni’s story of healing from a medical condition, but in her mind it is about resilience. She needed to take her health into her own hands after she was told that there is no cure for hyperfibrosplasia. Govoni’s healing recipe is a combination of humor, Eastern philosophy, modern Western medicine ideas, Native American wisdom and the beliefs from generations of her family, all wrapped in her faith and served with a big helping of love. Step by step, she created her healing plan with the beliefs and skills she knew using her mind, body and spirit.

“Stroke is a big cause of disability in our society and I give helpful ideas for both patients and caregivers,” Govoni says. “It is also about the brain and all the new research which makes it relevant to everyone.”

“Faith Love and Hypnosis” shares the message of hope for those who feel helpless and hopeless after a major change, be it physical, mental, spiritual or emotional. This book is full of ways that people can help themselves to heal, recover and go on with their life.
