Clear Channel Communications announced today that it has signed an agreement to acquire KUUL-FM, KMXG-FM, KCQQ-FM, WLLR-FM, WLLR-AM and WOC-AM in Davenport, Iowa from Mississippi Valley Broadcasting, Inc., an affiliate of Sconnix Broadcasting, LLC, for the purchase price of $85 million. |

The jail population in Scott County has steadily dropped this year, leaving Sheriff Mike Bladel with something unfamiliar: empty beds on a regular basis.
From March through June, Scott County’s average monthly jail population was at or below the 208-person capacity allowed for the main facility (128 inmates) and its minimum-security annex (80). |

The state of Iowa is one of the beneficiaries of Scott County’s one-cent option tax passed to renovate and expand schools. Earlier this year, Iowa lawmakers gave the Department of Revenue and Finance the authority to keep a share of local-option taxes to pay for administrative costs. |
