Trinity's pastoral-care department is offering two ways to ease the pain for those struggling with holiday grief. Those wishing to remember a loved one who has died may write the name of that person on an ornament and hang it on a memorial tree located in any of the chapels or meditation rooms at all three Trinity hospital campuses. Additionally, all of the chapels have holiday-grief packets available that offer advice on working through the loss of a loved one. For more information, contact Trinity's pastoral care department at (309)779-2989.

YouthBuild Quad Cities and the Rock Island Housing Authority recently joined forces. While YouthBuild will remain a separate not-for-profit body with its own identity, the housing authority will administer the program in the same way it administers other grant-funded programs. YouthBuild will also retain its own advisory board that will continue to meet on a quarterly basis. YouthBuild participants enroll in an alternative school to earn their GEDs or high-school diplomas, and they gain job skills by working on affordable-housing projects for low-income families.
