Red House Chinese & American Food

My husband and I have had take out from RED House and it was GREAT!! The inside of the restaurant is all new and very clean. We were happy with the portions for the prices. The only cheap chinese take-out is Hy-Vee. If you order from almost ANY chinese take out it's not dirt cheap!! Give a local business a chance. Hy-Vee take out pales in comparrison to RED House!! We love it!!

We went to Red House Chinese because they don't add MSG to their food - we have a family member with this food allergy.
Well, it was Great! The staff was so friendly and helpful, plus the food arrived quickly and was really quite delicious.
We have gone there a number of times since, and the food and service was always outstanding.
We recommend.

The only thing Red House Chinese and American Food has going for them would be the atmosphere within the restaurant. The items on the menu are overpriced for the portions. If you order water with your meal(as they have free tap water) or bottled water for sale. You have to retrieve your own cup of water from the cooler. Which by the way isn't cold, but it has been sitting in the cooler all day. Really??? Your meal is served to you on a paper plate...TACKY!!! I just paid $7.00 for a large fried rice all to have to eat off a paper plate. WOW!!! Not to mention the sesame chicken and general tso's chicken taste exactly the same minus the seeds. Last but certainly not least while dining I witnessed the delivery man use the bathroom. And came out with dry hands. GROSS...all employees are suppose to wash their hands before returning to work. My associates and myself spent $30.00 on three meals and an appetizer. And still left hungry. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone who's on a budget unless you eat the during lunch hours.
