the Les Miserables ensembleLes Misérables is an epic musical, and Countryside Community Theatre should be commended for its noble effort in staging the multi-layered, much-loved piece by composer Claude-Michel Schönberg and lyricist Herbert Kretzmer. Director David Turley and his cast treat the material with the respect it deserves. Friday night’s performance, however, was still riddled with problems, many of them of a technical nature.

Lauren Plumley in The Best Christmas Pageant EverI'd be tempted to call the Richmond Hill Barn Theatre's latest offering the best Christmas pageant ever even if that wasn't its title. Yet that description wouldn't come close to suggesting just how successful it is as a play.

One of the most difficult challenges directors face when working with a classic – particularly one such as The Wizard of Oz – is maintaining their vision while honoring the cherished memories every audience member holds. Georgia Jecklin, the director of Countryside Community Theatre’s production of The Wizard of Oz, accomplished this difficult challenge in a delightfully creative way.
