Going to the cineplex or staying in and streaming this weekend? Every Thursday morning at 8:15 a.m. you can listen to Mike Schulz dish on recent movie releases & talk smack about Hollywood celebs on Planet 93.9 FM with the fabulous Dave & Darren in the Morning team of Dave Levora and Darren Pitra. The morning crew previews upcoming releases, too.

Or you can check the Reader Web site and listen to their latest conversation by the warm glow of your electronic device. Never miss a pithy comment from these three scintillating pundits again.

Thursday, March 21: Prior to previews of Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, Late Night with the Devil, Immaculate, and Shirley, discussion of Arthur the King, Love Lies Bleeding, One Life, The American Society of Magical Negros, and Snack Shack, the latter of which lived up to its promise and then some,

Thursday, March 14: A recap of the Academy Awards; discussion of Imaginary, Cabrini, Kung Fu Panda 4, and 20 Days in Mariupol; and previews of Arthur the King, One Life, Love Lies Bleeding, The American Society of Magical Negroes, and what might turn out to be the sleeper hit of the spring: an R-rated teen comedy titled Snack Shack. Stay tuned.

Thursday, March 7: Discussion of Dune: Part Two and Spaceman, previews of Kung Fu Panda 4, Imaginary, and Cabrini, and predictions for this Sunday's Academy Awards ... but sadly, all without the input of Darren, as technical issues left the guys with only two working mics. Darren loaned his to the guest. Such a nice boy, that one.

Thursday, February 29: Discussion of Drive-Away Dolls and Oridnary Angels, plus a preview for Dune: Part Two. Yes: Only one movie opening this weekend. But it's big enough for several.

Thursday, February 22: Discussion of Madame Web (woof...), Bob Marley: One Love, and the Oscar-nominated live-action and animated shorts, and previews of Drive-Away Dolls and Ordinary Angels, the latter co-written by Meg Tilly. Remember Meg Tilly? The Big Chill? Agnes of God? And not, as Dave initially suggests, Bounce?

Thursday, February 15: Discussion of Lisa Frankenstein, Out of Darkness, and The Teachers' Lounge, previews of Madame Web, Bob Marley: One Love, Land of Bad, and the Oscar-nominated short films, and a plug for this very Web page. If you're here for the first time because of that plug: Welcome!

Thursday, February 8: Discussion of Argylle, The Zone of Interest, and Scrambled, previews of Lisa Frankenstein an d Out of Darkneess, and utter delight in the "We Are the World" doc The Greatest Night in Pop, which a friend of Darren's has reportedly, and understandably, seen eight times so far.

Thursday, February 1: Prior to previews of Argylle, Scrambled, and The Zone of Interest, discussion of Origin, Nimona, American Symphony, and Flamin' Hot, the latter of which earned Diane Warren her 15th Best Original Song nod and ninth in 10 years. Yes: The Cheetos movie is an Oscar nominee.

Thursday, January 25: Discussion of All of Us Strangers and I.S.S., previews of Origin and Godzilla Minus One Minus Color, and much crowing over the latter's Oscar nomination when it was in color -- the first Academy recognition for a Godzilla ever. Happy 70th birthday, dude!

Thursday, January 18: After an unanticipated week off, discussion of Mean Girls, The Beekeeper, Night Swim, American Fiction, and The Book of Clarence, and lightning-round discussion on Society of the Snow, Foe, Good Grief, and Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie.

Thursday, January 4: The boys are back, and it's light-round time again! Discussion of Maestro, Migration, Aquaman & the Lost Kingdom, Anyone but You, The Iron Claw, Poor Things, The Color Purple, Ferrari, and Leave the World Behind, and previews of Night Swim and Society of the Snow.

Thursday, December 21: For the guys' final convo of '23, discussion of Wonka, The Boys in the Boat, and Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget, previews of loads of seasonal releases, and about half the segment desrvedly spent on Godzilla Minus One, which Dave finally saw and loved. Happy Holidays, everyone!

Thursday, December 14: Discussion of The Boy & the Heron and Eileen, a preview of Wonka, and building excitement for Last Picture House popcorn, which is said to be next-level. There are sure to be worse reasons to sit through Wonka.

Thursday, December 7: Previews of Eileen and The Boy & the Heron, praise for Davenport's new Last Picture House venue, and discussion of May December, Candy Cane Lane, Dream Scenario, The Shift, Silent Night, and Godzilla Minus One, which just made Mike's Top 10 list for 2023. Apparently, miracles will never cease.

Thursday, November 30: Discussion of nine movies including Napoleon and Wish, previews of seven movies including Dream Scenario and May December, lengthy appreciation of Albert Brooks (fear not, he's still alive), an update on Davenport's new movie theater, and more. Sheesh, you take one lousy week off ... !

Thursday, November 16: Before the guys take a week of for the holiday, discussion of The Marvels, The Holdovers, The Killer, and Journey to Bethlehem, and previews of releases including the new Hunger Games, Next Goal Wins, and Eli Roth's new horror flick. Happy Thanksgiving! Though, in Roth's hands, probably not a happy Thanksgiving.

Thursday, November 9: Discussion of Priscilla, Nyad, The Marsh King's Daughter, What Happens Later, and Fingernails; previews of The Marvels, Journey to Bethlehem, The Holdovers, and The Killer; and a nostalgia review of Tarantino's The Hateful Eight, which is somehow even longer now than it was in 2015.

Thursday, November 2: Discussion of Five Nights at Freddy's, Anatomy of a Fall, and After Death, and previews of Priscilla and What Happens Later, the latter a rom-com starring Meg Ryan and David Duchovny. Today we're gonna party like it's 1995.

Thursday, October 26: Previews of Five Nights at Freddy's, Freelance, and Anatomy of a Fall, and quite-lengthy discussion of Killers of a Flower Moon. It's almost three-and-a-half hours. The movie; not the conversation.

Thursday, October 19: Discussion of Wes Anderson's Roald Dahl shorts for Netflix, Fair Play, and The Burial, plus a brief sampling of Unpopular Opinions: movies Mike loves that critics generally hate, and vice versa. The movies he hates won Oscars; the one he loves should have for Peter Falk alone.

Thursday, October 12: Discussion of Stop Making Sense, The Exorcist: Believer, No One Will Save You, and Flora & Son, but first ... . Taylor Swift is here! (Not in-studio, of course, but you get the idea.)

Thursday, October 5: Discussion of The Creator and Saw X, and previews of The Exorcist: Believer and four horror films at the drive-in. If all that's not scary enough for October, just wait 'til every screen in the land is dominated by Taylor Swift.

Thursday, September 28: Discussion of Expend4bles, Dumb Money, Cassandro, and It Lives Inside, and previews of Stop Making Sense and, apparently, the next hope for a Barbenheimer: a double feature of Saw X and the new PAW Patrol cutely monikered "Saw Patrol." Just ... no.

Thursday, September 21: Discussion of A Haunting in Venice, The Inventor, and El Conde, and previews of Dumb Money, It Lives Inside, and the third sequel to Stallone's The Expendables, which we're apparently meant to pronounce as "Expendfourbles."

Thursday, September 14: Discussion of The Nun II and My Big Fat Wedding 3 - the latter far less interesting than Darren's alternative plots and titles for the second sequel - and previews of new titles including A Haunting in Venice, with Dave not at all hiding his feelings about Sir Kenneth Branagh.

Thursday, September 7: Discussion of The Equalizer 3, Bottoms, and Zombie Town, previews for of The Nun II and My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3, and Dave delivering the all-time-greatest pitch for a Slinky movie.

Thursday, August 31: Discussion of Golda, The Hill, and the avidly awaited Retribution. Dave and Mike saw it together! They both hated it!

Thursday, August 24: Discussion of Gran Turismo, Blue Beetle, Strays, Red, White, & Royal Blue, Of an Age, and Close ... . But whatever. Retribution opens tomorrow! Bring it on!

Thursday, August 17: Discussion of The Last Voyage of the Demeter and Jules, and previews of a bunch of films opening either here or elsewhere ... though none sounding as fun as Retribution. Only eight more days, people!

Thursday, August 10: Discussion of Meg 2: The Trench, Theater Camp, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, and previews of The Last Voyage of the Demeter and Jules, the latter of which appears to be about Ben Kingsley having an audience with The Great Gazoo.

Thursday, August 3: Discussion of Haunted Mansion, Talk to Me, and The Baker, and previews of the new Ninja Turtles, the new Meg, and the new camera set-ups in the Dave & Darren studio ... not that, this being an audio file, you'll get to see much.

Thursday, July 27: After a week off, discussion of Oppenheimer, Barbie, and Cobweb ... the latter a horror film unwisely scheduled to open opposite Oppenheimer and Barbie.

Thursday, July 13: A scoop on Mission: Impossible -- Dead Reckoning Part One, discussion of Insidious: The RedDoor, Sound of Freedom, and Joy Ride, and decidedly mixed feelings about the prospect of Wonka.

Thursday, July 6: Discussion of Indiana Jones & the Dial of Destiny, Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken, and Past Lives, and a special audio treat: a preview of August's latest Liam-with-a-gun thriller Retribution. The guys cannot wait.

Thursday, June 29: Discussion of No Hard Feelings and Asteroid City, previews of Indiana Jones & the Dial of Destiny and Ruby Gillman: Teenage Kraken ... and all secondary to the amazing story Dave shares about Mel Brooks' World War II service. Happy 97th birthday, Mel!

Thursday, June 22: Discussion of Elemental and The Flash, and previews of No Hard Feelings and Asteroid City. A weekend without a new superhero movie or sequel/reboot or superhero-movie sequel/reboot. Crazy.

Thursday, June 15: After their week apart, the guys reunite for discussion of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, a scoop on The Blackening, and previews of Elemental and The Flash.

Thursday, June 1: One last movie barrage before Mike enjoys a vacation, with discussion of The Little Mermaid, You Hurt My Feelings, The Starling Girl, The Machine, and About My Father. Back on the 15th!

Thursday, May 25: Discussion of Fast X and Master Gardener, previews of six new ones opening locally, and a Memory Lane return to Best Picture winners of the 1990s.

Thursday, May 18: Discussion of Book Club: The Next Chapter, Hypnotic, and BlackBerry, with conervsational detours on Darren's first BlackBerry, Mike's brief ComedySportz tenure, and Dave's wife's binge-watch of the first nine Fast & Furious movies.

Thursday, May 11: Discussion of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Love Again -- the former weakly watchable, the latter joyously, transcendently terrible.

Thursday, May 4: Discussion of Big George Foreman, Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret., Polite Society, Sisu, and Judy Blume Forever, and previews of three new ones opening locally this weekend. Yes: Only three. A reprieve at last.

Thursday, April 27: Discussion of Beau Is Afraid, Evil Dead Rise, Chevalier, Guy  Ritchie's The Covenant, and Somewhere in Queens, and previews of Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret, Big George Foreman, Sisu ... . The cineplex overstuffing continues.
