Iowa Corn Farmers Attend Commodity Classic in Houston March 2

JOHNSTON, IOWA (March 4, 2024) — Iowa Corn farmer-leaders participated in the 2024 Commodity Classic in Houston, Texas. The delegation from Iowa consisted of Iowa Corn directors, Iowa Corn farmer voting delegates and alternates, Iowa Corn Collegiate Advisory Team members, and grassroots leaders.

Considering Historical Land Use Study Now Available

JOHNSTON, IOWA (February 16, 2024) — A new study released by researchers at the University of Illinois at Chicago Energy Resources Center evaluates environmental and economic impacts of land use change (LUC) for land that moves in and out of cropland over decadal time periods. The study aimed to determine land use and soil organic carbon stocks on 1,000 land parcels over a 36-year period.

Start of Production of First US Sustainable Aviation Fuel Plant Hits Home Need for Low Carbon Corn Ethanol

JOHNSTON, IOWA (Janaury 24, 2024) — Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) could grow into the largest new market ever seen for US farm commodities thanks to the start of production of SAF at LanzaJet Freedom Pines Fuels. Without low carbon ethanol, which requires carbon capture and sequestration (CCS), Iowa farmers could miss out on the chance to unlock this new market. No Iowa ethanol plant currently has a carbon intensity score low enough to qualify as a SAF feedstock.

JOHNSTON, IOWA (December 4, 2023) — Iowa Corn is proud to be the entitlement partner of the first-ever NASCAR Cup Series race in the state. The Iowa Corn 350, Powered by Ethanol, will showcase the performance of ethanol at the fastest short-track on the planet, which is surrounded by corn fields.

Iowa Corn Collegiate Advisory Team Students Selected for Participation

JOHNSTON, IOWA (October 12, 2023) — Iowa Corn is proud to announce the students selected to participate in the 2023-2024 school year’s Collegiate Advisory Team (CAT) program, which focuses on increasing college students’ understanding of the corn industry. During the one-year program, students will visit the Capitol, tour industry leaders' operations, and expand their network and knowledge outside of the classroom.
