COAL VALLEY, ILLINOIS (February 8, 2023) — Niabi is excited to welcome back to the Quad Cities, our conservation partner, Dr Greg Rasmussen from Painted Dog Research Trust in Zimbabwe for a lively, in-person presentation about the newest species coming to Niabi Zoo in 2023, African Painted Dogs.

Dr Greg Rasmussen is a British wildlife conservation biologist who has studied the African painted dog for over thirty years, working in the Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe. Believing strongly that good conservation must be underpinned by sound science, he founded Painted Dog Research Trust (PDRT). His team operates a field-based conservation ecology center for data-driven trans-boundary research.

Come enjoy a catered dinner and drinks at this 21-and-over event with Dr Rasmussen while he discusses the current plight of painted dogs and learn about the progress of Niabi's painted-dog habitat. This special presentation is a fundraising dinner to support conservation of painted dogs in the wild and at the Zoo.
