This years events will be adult contests on stage, bike rodeo, bike show, live music throughout the weekend, both food and merchandise vendors, and a charity poker run. Attendees must be 21 with a valid photo ID. Attendees are encouraged to bring a tent and camp for the weekend.
The Hawgstock Motorcycle Rally was founded in 2002 by the Taylors, evolving from a dream of Paul's to some day have a rally of his own. In 2002 Cathy said to Paul that she had tired of hearing the tale and that if Paul wanted to have a rally they together had a lot of work to do, and thus Hawgstock was born and held on their private land and attendance has continued to grow ever since. Hawgstock not unlike Paul himself was born in Iowa, where they both call “Home”. Paul was born and raised in Dallas County on a rural farm and has also worked throughout the state as a painter for most of his adult life. Hawgstock is different in that it is a privately owned rally and operated solely by the Taylor family and friends that volunteer their time and efforts to ensure that it is a success.
In its very first year Hawgstock was one of Iowa's smaller motorcycle rallies, but was rated in a Biker Magazine article as one of the top 3 in the state of Iowa.
Hawgstock's relationship with other biker interest groups and businesses has grown over the past few years and in conjunction with other entities has enabled several associations to raise money. Some of the groups in attendance include Christian Motorcycle Association, Winterset Volunteer Fire Department, Winterset Kiwanis Club, Earlham Volunteer Fire Department, Hep C Straightup, Bikers Assistance Fund and many others. Some of the proceeds from the past rallies have been donated to Children’s Miracle Network, Special Olympics, and families of individual riders that have been injured or passed away.
Hawgstock is an annual event, held the last full weekend of August.
