What makes traveling internationally with GAHC so extraordinary?
To begin with you are traveling on a one-of-a-kind trip designed to meet the current interests of the German American Heritage Center’s membership and support its mission.
Our Quaintest Villages of the Alps July 12-24 2018 is hosted by board member and local educator, Cori Tate with tour coordination by our local professional travel consultant and GAHC member, Linda Meadors of Blue Horizon Travel.
You will visit the four German speaking Alpine countries of Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Highlights include: Germany’s Black Forest, Lake Constance, Berchtesgaden and the Eagle’s Nest; Austria’s ski village of Kitzbuhel and the lake region’s most famous city of Salzburg; Switzerland’s Interlaken region including a cogwheel train journey to get the best panoramic view of the Jungfrau, Eiger and Monch mountains and the Swiss dairy community of Appenzell; plus a stop in Europe’s tiniest country, Liechtenstein. We are taking our time with two night stays at each hotel/inn. You will not see this tour anywhere else as we took the opportunity to tap into Cori’s background of years of living in rural Germany and Austria to explore Alpine traditions & craftsmanship, beloved natural vistas, walking trails, and breathtaking Alpine byways.
To make this trip “Quaint” we are limiting participation to 15-30 persons. Land tour cost is $3799 per person double occupancy with a single supplement of $600. Registration is now open. The complete itinerary and registration form is posted at www.bluehorizon.net or by calling Linda at 309-912-4888. This tour is combinable with other European travel or river cruise.
Just like the last two international tours offered by GAHC, an educational/social component has been added during the six months leading up to the Quaintest Villages of the Alps tour which gives you the opportunity to get better acquainted with your fellow travelers and tours hosts. Come learn about the customs, history, cuisine of the Alpine region, and even take some German for Traveler’s language lessons! Special exhibits and entertainment at GAHC have been planned around our Alpine theme. Airfares to Europe are good this year and we anticipate the same for 2018. Don’t wait too long to make your deposit of $500!
