Delivering the story of an America that no longer exists and one of the most challenging extended periods in American history, John Donald O'Shea will host the in-person program Memories of the Great Depression at the Moline Public Library on May 25, the presenter and familiar area-theatre participant the author of two Memories of the Great Depression books on his subject: A Time Forgotten and A Time Remembered.

If you're a parent of young children, you're no doubt familiar with the magical world of the TV puppy Bluey, and on May 20, the Davenport Public Library's Fairmount Street Branch will celebrate the pooch and his pals in the Bluey Party!, with games, crafts, snacks, book recommendations, and a "flossing dance party" taking place in advance of the forthcoming Bluey's Big Play touring event at Davenport;s Adler Theatre.

On May 18, the accomplishments of a pair of notable women from the world of science will be explored in a live presentation at the Moline Public Library, with touring storyteller and historic reenactor Lynn Rymarz, in period attire, telling the tales of Marie Curie and Ottawa, Illinoisn native Margaret "Peg" Looney.

Presented on May 18 as part of the Davenport Public Library's 3rd Thursday at Hoover's Presidential Library & Museum series, the live virtual program Hoover & Criminal Justice Reform will find University of Texas at Austin professor Dr. James Calder speaking on historic accomplishments such as the former president's establishment of a hospital for defective delinquents, as well as his creation of the Unites States Parole Board.
