On Friday, September 1, after 8:10AM, one or more members of the Davenport City Council unilaterally made the deliberate choice to leak a highly-confidential personnel-notification concerning two dedicated employees.

DES MOINES, IOWA (September 4, 2023) — Attorney General Brenna Bird joined a bipartisan coalition of 42 attorneys-general urging the Supreme Court to protect veterans’ rights by ruling in favor of James Rudisill in Rudisill v McDonough. The US Department of Veterans Affairs (“VA”) denied Rudisill full use of his more beneficial Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits, despite being eligible for those benefits.

DES MOINES, IOWA (August 25, 2023) — Governor Kim Reynolds has received notification that President Biden has granted her request for a Presidential Disaster Declaration for seven counties that were severely impacted by spring flooding. Counties included in the declaration are Allamakee, Clayton, Des Moines, Dubuque, Jackson, Lee, and Scott.

DES MOINES, IOWA (August 21, 2023) — Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird was joined by Dallas Cowboys Hall of Famer Randy White with the National Child ID Program on Wednesday to grill at the Iowa Pork tent and distribute child ID kits.

DES MOINES, IOWA (August 16, 2023) — Five talented Sprout division acts (ages two to twelve) and five Senior division acts (ages thirteen to 21) have advanced to the semi-final round in Bill Riley's 63rd annual Iowa State Fair Talent Search. Each act will perform again on Thursday, August 17; Friday, August 18; or Saturday, August 19.

DES MOINES, IOWA (August 15, 2023) — Jarrett Stod of New Sharon was awarded the Best Legs title in the Mr Legs contest held Saturday, August 12, on the MidAmerican Energy Stage at the 2023 Iowa State Fair.

Ben Hogan of Readlyn was awarded Runner-Up Best Legs.

Beyond overall leg appearance, several leg divisions were judged during the contest, including thinnest, hairiest, palest, tannest, and special winners.

DES MOINES, IOWA (August 15, 2023) — Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird and Dallas Cowboys Hall of Famer Randy White will be grilling at the Iowa Pork Tent as celebrity chefs at the Iowa State Fair on Wednesday, August 16. White is joining AG Bird with the National Child ID program to provide families free identification kits for police to use in case of emergency to help locate a missing child.
