ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (May 15, 2024) — Augustana College announces the launch of Success Teams for every student beginning fall 2024. The innovative program builds upon the college’s track record of developing strong leaders, with a heightened focus on customized support.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (May 15, 2024) — Augustana College students will present the Longview Park master plan to the City of Rock Island Parks and Recreation Board on Tuesday, May 21. The plan will help guide leaders in making decisions for future upgrades and projects for the more than a century-old park, located at 18th Avenue and 17th Street. The public is invited to the 5:30PM meeting at the Rock Island Fitness & Activity Center, 4303 24th St.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (May 3, 2024) Chef Joseph Yoon, a world-renowned chef and champion for the potential of insect agriculture, will present the Roys Lecture at Augustana College on Monday, May 13. Attendees will have an opportunity to eat food prepared by Yoon featuring insect ingredients.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (May 10, 2024) — Augustana College senior Delaney Walsh, a kinesiology major from Davenport, Iowa (52803), was nominated to submit a “More Than I Imagined” profile by Dr Shaun Edmonds, assistant professor of kinesiology.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (May 9, 2024) — Six Augustana College students presented at The Mississippi River Research Consortium, held April 16-18 in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Augustana-led presentations included research focused on microplastics in freshwater urban watersheds and land-use factors affecting erosion and entrenchment in the Goose Creek Watershed of Davenport, Iowa.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (May 6, 2024) — The Augustana College Department of Theatre and Film presents Our Country’s Good, May 9-12, at the Brunner Theatre Center. The play is directed by Jeff Coussens, Augustana Professor of Theatre Arts.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (April 30, 2024) — Augustana College's John Deere Planetarium will be open to the public on Saturday night, May 11, for the annual Spring Open House for an evening of stargazing and space shows.

The planetarium, located at 820 38th St, will be open 8:30-10PM, with indoor and outdoor programs led by planetarium director Dr Lee Carkner. Admission is free.
