Ron Paul Steady in New Hampshire Top Three

New poll shows Paul's continued rise in GOP field
LAKE JACKSON, Texas - In the latest New Hampshire Journal poll, 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul remains a top three choice of likely New Hampshire primary voters with 16 percent.

"While others may rise and fall quickly, Congressman Paul's support is steady and rising," said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton. "This is more proof that the American people are ready for real change, and Ron Paul is the only candidate who has the conviction to oppose the status quo of the elitist Washington establishment."

This latest New Hampshire poll comes on the heels of a Bloomberg News poll showing Paul in a statistical tie for first place in Iowa and a strong second place in New Hampshire, and a Public Policy Poll in which he was the only Republican candidate to best Obama among independent voters (48 to 39 percent). A late October CNN/Time poll also showed him in the top three in the key states of Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina.

Ron Paul Grabs Second Place in New Hampshire Poll

LAKE JACKSON, Texas - In a Bloomberg News Poll released today, 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul vaults to second place in New Hampshire among likely Republican primary voters, with 17 percent of the vote.

"We're very excited to see these numbers," said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton. "While other campaigns have shot into the top tier, only to fade away, support for Congressman Paul in New Hampshire has been growing steadily, and we are prepared to hold our ground here - and advance."

The New Hampshire figures come on the heels of a Bloomberg News poll showing Paul in a statistical tie for first place in Iowa, and a Public Policy Poll in which he was the only Republican candidate to best Obama among independent voters (48 to 39%).

Ron Paul Polls in First Place in Key Early Voting State of Iowa

New survey reveals a statistical tie with Herman
Cain?and that Dr. Paul's support is unwavering
LAKE JACKSON, Texas - 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul polls well within the margin of error at first place and has an unusually loyal following that is unlikely to switch to another candidate, according to a new Bloomberg News poll.

Paul polls at a strong 19 percent while pizza baron Herman Cain polls at 20 percent, making the first in the nation race a statistical tie.  The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.4 percentage points and was surveyed during November 10th to 12th. 

Mitt Romney polls at 18 percent and Newt Gingrich at 17 percent among the likely caucus goers, while Rick Perry and Michele Bachmann earned just 7 and 5 percent, respectively.  A mere 3 and 1 percent of respondents, respectively, chose Rick Santorum and Jon Huntsman.

Poll highlights favorable to Dr. Paul include the following points:
  • Among likely caucus-goers who say their decision is final, Paul leads with 32 percent, followed by Romney and Gingrich at 25  and 17 percent, respectively; and
  • Among Paul supporters who backed him in the 2008 caucuses, an impressive 69 percent of those who backed Paul's bid for the presidency in 2008 still support him now; and
  • Paul's campaign leads all other campaigns in voter contact, with about two thirds of respondents saying they've heard from his campaign.
The Bloomberg News poll follows a recent CNN/TIME/ORC poll showing that Paul polls among the top three in the key early voting state in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, and that concerning Iowa, Paul's support is growing along with the changing nature of the field.

"The Bloomberg News poll reveals that Ron Paul is a top contender in the key early voting state of Iowa, which helps determine who will win the Republican nomination for the presidency," said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.

Ron Paul Campaign Statement on October 2011 Unemployment; Dire circumstances demand authentic solutions
LAKE JACKSON, Texas - Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign Manager John Tate released the following statement concerning the Bureau of Labor Statistics' employment situation summary for the month of October 2011:

"The national unemployment rate of 9 percent for the month of October 2011 comes as no shock.  There are plenty of data illustrating a dire state of affairs even as Washington intervenes heavily in the economy - and seeks to nudge us further off the cliff. 

"The four-week moving average for new unemployment insurance claims is still higher than the troublesome 400,000 benchmark. 

"An all-time record 6.7 percent of Americans, a staggering 20.5 million people, suffer deep poverty, defined in 2010 as earning $5,570 or less or just $11,157 for a family of four. 

"In total, 46.2 million people live below the official poverty line.  This week, we also learned that nearly 15 percent of Americans - 45.8 million people - relied on food stamps in August, with recipient rolls having risen 8.1 percent in the past year.

"All of this is taking place in a wealthy industrialized nation of 312 million people blessed with favorable geography and abundant natural resources.

"We can and must do better.

"More federal intervention is not the answer; it will only dig a deeper hole.  Few in government seem to realize this.

"To make matters worse, this week, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke announced a tacit continuation of the Fed's quantitative easing policy, meaning the institution's top official still can't grasp the truth that the Fed-created boom and bust cycles result in the kind of stubborn joblessness we're seeing.

"Also note how casually our leaders mention there will be sustained weak economic growth until 2014.

"Meanwhile, the Obama administration is making crude threats about women being assaulted as a result of Congress deciding against the President's costly, deficit-financed stimulus re-boot.  This shows a clear lack of the leadership America urgently needs.

"In September, metropolitan area unemployment for Washington-Arlington-Alexandria, the locus of government and influence peddling, was a respectable 6.1 percent, demonstrating that as the private sector suffers, government thrives.

"Washington elites cannot see the trouble they are causing or the pain working Americans are feeling.  Washington always flourishes in the midst of the crashes it creates.

"Worst of all, the Washington establishment is unconcerned and unsympathetic about the crushing debt - now matching U.S. GDP - being forced on today's workers and future generations of taxpayers.

"Ron Paul's ambitious 'Plan to Restore America' is the boldest plan to reduce the federal deficit.  It cuts taxes, authorizes a comprehensive audit of the Fed, and reins in dangerous government intervention by curtailing runaway spending and regulatory overreaches.

Ron Paul's Leadership Unifies House Reformers in Defense of American Taxpayers Urges 'Super Committee' to make serious cuts and avoid new taxes, calls for Congressional pay cut
LAKE JACKSON, Texas - 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul recently displayed uncommon leadership sorely needed in Washington through a willingness to unite Congressional reformers on both sides of the aisle in defense of the American taxpayer.

Before heading to Iowa, Minnesota, and North Dakota for hard campaigning, Representative Paul showed why he is the only candidate who can unite people and bring our country authentic change.

Paul joined with a coalition of Republicans and Blue Dog Democrats to call for deep and meaningful spending cuts from the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction (or "Super Committee") that is charged with presenting the full Congress with deficit reduction options, reflecting Paul's commitment to working in a bipartisan manner to reduce the burden imposed on the American people by spending and taxes.

Paul also joined with House conservatives and Republican Study Committee (RSC) Chairman Rep. Jim Jordan (OH-4) in pledging to fight any attempt by the Super Committee to raise taxes.  He co-signed a letter urging the Super Committee to avoid deficit-reduction actions that balance the federal budget on the backs of the American taxpayer. 

Dr. Paul also worked with Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (AZ-8) and others to assemble members from across the political spectrum to call for a cut in Congressional pay, sending Americans a message that Washington too must curtail its spending as it requests belt-tightening from the public. The letter to the Super Committee also notes that Congress last cut its own pay in 1933, during the Great Depression.

Paul's own ambitious 'Plan to Restore America,' recently cited by Iowa Governor Terry Branstad (R) as "the boldest plan to reduce the federal deficit," proposes that President Paul will take a salary of $39,336, approximately equal to the median personal income of the American worker.

Ron Paul Hits the Campaign Trail in Iowa;  November 4th visit includes media, company,town hall meeting and Republican Party fundraiser
ANKENY, Iowa - The Iowa component of the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign announced today that Dr. Paul will visit the Hawkeye State again for a series of events and appearances.  The visit will encompass four stops and is set to occur on Friday, November 4th.

Dr. Paul will first appear live with host Jan Mickelson on WHO Radio.  He will then hold an employee town hall meeting with workers at Nationwide/Allied Insurance, a company that employs 4,500 people in the Des Moines area and offers them the opportunity to interact with presidential candidates. 

Next, Dr. Paul will appear live on KCCI (TV) television.  He will then tape a 20-minute segment on AARP issues.  The AARP interview will be conducted by local television personality Dave Price, and includes questions on jobs, the economy, retirement security, Social Security, and Medicare.

The final event of the day is the Republican Party of Iowa's statewide autumn fundraiser, the annual Reagan Dinner, where Dr. Paul will speak and greet party faithful.

The first four events are closed to the public, and the fifth is a ticket-only fundraiser.

Ron Paul to Again Visit Iowa to Meet Manufacturers and Voters, NAM speech, retail stop and town hall meeting round out one-day trip
ANKENY, Iowa - The Iowa component of the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign announced today that Dr. Paul will again visit Iowa.  This latest visit will occur on Tuesday, November 1st.

The visit takes place three short days after his October 29th scheduled trip to Des Moines for the National Federation of Republican Assemblies (NFRA), and his Carroll Town Hall Meeting in West Central Iowa.

On November 1st, Ron Paul will visit with members of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) in south east Iowa.  U.S. loss of manufacturing dramatically affects unemployment in America and has contributed to stubborn joblessness.  Congressman Paul, in remarks reflecting the proper role of government, will share his long-term vision for how to reverse the decline in U.S. competitiveness.

Following the visit with NAM members, Dr. Paul will greet voters at Smokey Row Coffee House in Oskaloosa and hold a town hall meeting in Ottumwa.

Ron Paul Easily Defeats Republican Primary Competitors in Iowa Straw Poll
Garners 82 percent of total in NFRA's Iowa-only tally of GOP activists; also wins open-voter tally
LAKE JACKSON, Texas - Earlier today Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul defeated his GOP competitors, winning 82 percent of the vote in a poll of Iowa GOP activists.  Dr. Paul's nearest competitor was pizza baron Herman Cain, who garnered an unimpressive 14.7 percent of the vote.

The poll of Iowa voters took place in Des Moines as part of the National Federation of Republic Assemblies Presidential Preference Convention and Straw Poll.  The victory among Iowa voters demonstrates that Dr. Paul has substantial support among Republican Party activists in the Hawkeye State. 

"In Iowa, Ron Paul continues to engage and inspire concerned voters at town hall meetings and in other settings.  This contest, however, shows that Dr. Paul and his campaign have tremendous organization strength.  Iowa voters are ready for when the opportunity to vote for Ron Paul arises, and today they have done just that quite decisively," said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.

In addition to winning the Iowa-only tally conducted at the NFRA convention, Dr. Paul won the open-voter tally which was not restricted to voters from Iowa.  The open-voter results had Dr. Paul winning by 26 percent, followed by Cain at 25 percent, Perry and Santorum tied at 16 percent, and others with low double- and single-digit percentages.

In Case You Missed It: Ron Paul Offers Relief for Small Business; Allows grace period for regulatory compliance
LAKE JACKSON, Texas - This week, 2012 Republican Presidential candidate, Congressman Ron Paul introduced a bill on the House Floor that would alleviate the onerous regulations the federal government imposes on small businesses, which are the backbone of the U.S. economy.

H.R. 3267, the Protect Small Business Jobs Act of 2011, would grant small businesses a six-month grace period to comply with federal regulations.

Speaking about the bill on the House floor, Congressman Paul said:

"At a time of continuing high unemployment and stagnant growth, doesn't it make sense to give small businesses a reasonable time to comply with federal regulations rather than just hitting them with job-destroying fines and legal bills?

"I hope all my colleagues will stand up for small businesses and their current and potential employees by cosponsoring the Protect Small Business Jobs Act."

Ron Paul Leads GOP Candidates in Iowa Campaign Donations; Evidence of a large and growing base of support
LAKE JACKSON, Texas - According to a recent report from the Des Moines Register, 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul leads among GOP contenders in donations from the state of Iowa so far this year. Paul bests presumed frontrunner Mitt Romney, and places comfortably ahead of the rest of the Republican field.

"This is more clear evidence of Dr. Paul's large and growing base of support in the great state of Iowa," said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton. "Iowans who are sick and tired of the status quo message coming from the establishment candidates in this race are attracted to our campaign's message of balanced budgets, limited constitutional government, and individual liberty, and we are working to capitalize on that momentum."

Crowds of More Than 1,200 People Greet Ron Paul in IowaTown hall meetings plus youth event mean direct voter contact exceeds 1,600 on first of two-day tour
ANKENY, Iowa - The first day of 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul's two-day visit to Iowa yielded huge turnouts at public events featuring some of the Hawkeye State's most involved voters and supporters.


More than 175 people attended Dr. Paul's Davenport town hall meeting, and more than 220 people attended his town hall meeting in Burlington, his first visit there. 

Most notably, more than 1,200 members of the University of Iowa and general community greeted the Texas Congressman in the Main Lounge of the Memorial Union, located on the university's Iowa City campus.  This occurred even as homecoming weekend provided the public with an array of large events from which to distract from Paul's visit.

"The energy in the room tonight was unreal as more than 1,200 students and supporters filled the hall to hear Ron Paul's message of peace, prosperity, and individual liberty.  Students in Iowa and nationwide know that Dr. Paul is the only candidate running for office who will fix our economy, get our financial house in order, and restore American prosperity," said Edward King, National Youth Coordinator for the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign.

The University of Iowa event was organized by Youth for Ron Paul (YFP), an initiative of the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign.  Since "Youth for Ron Paul" launched last month, students nationwide have organized 166 chapters and recruited more than 9,800 people. 

Prior to the Davenport and Burlington town hall meetings and before his successful University of Iowa YFP visit, Dr. Paul was interviewed live in-studio with WHO Radio's Jan Mickelson in Des Moines, and in Newton he toured the TPI Composites plant and met with the American Wind Energy Association.

Paul v Romney Donations Show Stark Difference

Paul raised most from active military, Romney tapped big banks
LAKE JACKSON, Texas - A recent independent analysis of candidates' campaign contributions reveals an interesting disparity between the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign and frontrunner Mitt Romney's campaign. Romney's top supporters appear to be made up of big banks while, unsurprisingly, Paul's top contributors were men and women serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.

"This fundraising analysis confirms Americans' beliefs about Ron Paul and their suspicions about Mitt Romney.  It is that Dr. Paul is extraordinarily popular and accepted by the everyman and by everyday heroes, while Romney relies almost exclusively on his big-business ties," said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.

According to the analysis, the top three organizations that employ Romney's supporters are Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse Group, and Morgan Stanley.  Reflecting his popularity with the everyman and our uniformed service men and women, the top three organizations that employ Dr. Paul's supporters are the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Army, and the U.S. Navy.     

The study notes that the organizations themselves did not contribute.  Rather, "the money came from the organization's PAC, its individual members or employees or owners, and those individuals' immediate families."  The analysis suggests, then, that the use of PACs, bundling, subsidiaries and the like was not a feature of Dr. Paul's grassroots fundraising.

In Case You Missed It: Ron Paul Foreign Policy Favored By Vets

Majority of veterans respond that the U.S. should follow
non-interventionist foreign policy LAKE JACKSON, Texas - Today, the Pew Research Center released a pollhighlighting veteran views on America's ongoing, decade-long 'War on Terror.' The following was found in the poll:

  • 59 percent of post-9/11 veterans respond that the U.S. should focus on domestic issues versus be active in world affairs;
  • About half (51 percent) of post-9/11 veterans respond that the use of military force to fight terrorism creates hatred that breeds more terrorism;
  • 33 percent of veterans respond that neither war (Afghanistan nor Iraq) has been worth the cost;
  • Veterans and the public agree: The nation should not bring back the military draft, which ended in 1973. 82 percent of post-9/11 veterans said they are against reinstating the draft; and
  • 44 percent of post-9/11 veterans report that they have had difficulties readjusting to civilian life, and 37 percent say that ? whether or not they have been diagnosed - they have suffered from post-traumatic stress.

Ron Paul Most Competitive Against Obama in Latest Poll

Shows Paul drawing President below 50 percent LAKE JACKSON, Iowa - In a new Reuters/Ipsos survey, 2012 Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul polls within striking distance of President Obama among registered voters.

"Our campaign has been gaining momentum for some time now, and this is yet another poll that clearly proves how competitive we are versus the President" said Ron Paul 2012 Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton. "Dr. Paul is gaining ground in poll after poll, affirming that people are looking for real change instead of the status quo they are being offered from the establishment."

These results come just a few weeks after a Rasmussen poll showed him within a percent of President Obama in a head-to-head matchup.

Another recent Gallup survey, conducted August 17-18, shows Paul only 2 points behind Obama in a general election match-up. In a similar head to head survey from last year done by Rasmussen, Paul actually drew a statistical dead heat with the President. And earlier this year in a survey by CNN, he did the best out of the other Republicans put up against Obama in a head-to-head poll.
