January 2, 2018 - The Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds will host a first-ever, two-day St. Patrick’s Day party in March

Davenport, Iowa – Top bands playing a variety of music, skydivers dressed as leprechauns, a great selection of good food and plenty of green beer. All of that will be part of a giant, two-day St. Patrick’s Day party planned for the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds (MVF) in March.

The celebration will take place in the 30,000-square-foot Fair Center on Friday, March 16, and Saturday, March 17, says Shawn Loter, MVF general manager.

A tent will be set up outside to provide shelter for those who wish to smoke. Admission is free both days, and there is plenty of free parking.

“On Friday, March 16, doors open at 5 p.m.,” Loter says. “Our first band will be Soul Storm.”

Other bands that night will be Tomb and Electric Shock. Bagpipers will also be playing.

Doors open at 11 a.m. on St. Patrick’s Day, Saturday, March 17, and bagpipers will again be on hand to entertain.

Acoustic guitarist Doug Brundies will perform and the Flying Leprechauns skydiving team will parachute in at 3 p.m. Bands that afternoon and evening will be Sugar Nipples, Moonshine Run, North of 40, Dirt Road Rockers and Funktastic 5.

Adds Loter: “There will be corned beef and cabbage, pork sandwiches, hotdogs for the kids and plenty of green beer.”

Watch for more details in the future on the MVF Facebook page or contact the fair office at (563) 326-5338.
