NORTHPARK MALL CELEBRATES 40 YEARS IN THE QUAD CITIES

-40 Years and Still Going Strong-

DAVENPORT, Iowa, July, 1, 2013 - Get ready to celebrate a major milestone: NorthPark Mall is proud to announce the celebration of its 40th anniversary in the Quad City area.

NorthPark Mall officially opened on Wednesday, July 11, 1973, with a mere 700,000 square feet. At the time, the shopping center was the largest enclosed mall in the entire state of Iowa. Over the years, NorthPark Mall has provided thousands of jobs to local employees, new products to the increasing shopper base and a convenient place where families could get all their shopping completed in one stop.

Today NorthPark Mall is home to nearly one million square feet of shopping, dining and entertainment and employs thousands of Davenport-area residents. The center is anchored by JC Penney, Von Maur, Younkers, Dillard's and Sears and offers guests over 135 retailers. Since the mall opened the community has been an integral part to the success of the shopping center and that holds true today.

"Great activities for families and kids are an important part of what our mall offers the community," said Aleshia Chiesa, Marketing Manager, NorthPark Mall. "NorthPark is a staple of the community and we expect to keep it an invigorating shopping experience for everyone."

The community is invited to celebrate the mall's 40th anniversary with a formal ribbon-cutting that will take place on July 11, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., refreshments will be provided at the entrance to the food court and near Barnes and Noble. Local city officials, including the Chamber of Commerce will be attending.

NORTHPARK & SOUTHPARK MALLS PARTNER WITH NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC TO ENRICH THE SHOPPING EXPERIENCE FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES

-Kids Club To Offer More Fun, More Education Starting January 2013

DAVENPORT, Iowa, and MOLINE, Illinois, Jan, 22, 2013 - NorthPark and SouthPark Malls are proud to announce a partnership with National Geographic to bring even more fun and more education to its Kids Club programming.

With help from the Bettendorf Family Museum, guests of the NorthPark Mall Kids Club can plan on attending the first Club Meeting set for January 26, from 11:00am - 12:00pm. Our SouthPark Mall Club Meeting is set for January 26, from 3:00pm - 4:00pm. Our kick-off program, just in time for winter, will be a "Polar Party." Participants will have the opportunity to compare hand prints to polar bear paws, participate in a sing-along, and parade through the center.

Parents and kids also can enjoy the educational fun at home, with materials available online, at both malls and as part of the Kids Club Newsletter. The Kids Club program will offer a new theme bi-monthly, with topics ranging from the oceans and animals to insects and outer space. Following our Polar Party, we will dig deep with dinosaurs and head into spring with springtime fun. From fun facts to photos with friends, parents and kids will enjoy all there is to discover at the exciting new Kids Club at NorthPark and SouthPark Malls.

NON-PROFIT FAIR AT SOUTHPARK MALL

Join SouthPark Mall and area 501C3 organizations for a Non-Profit Fair!

WHO: SouthPark Mall will be hosting a 501C3 non-profit fair.

WHAT:  Non-profit organizations in the Quad City area are invited to attend SouthPark Mall's non-profit fair. Those organizations are asked to display and promote their local 501C3 business. Set up will include one table and two chairs. This event is free and will only be for the first 100 businesses. RSVP to Connie at 309.797.8450 before February 1, 2013.

NORTHPARK, SOUTHPARK & RED CROSS PARTNER TO COLLECT DONATIONS FOR HURRICANE SANDY RELIEF EFFORTS

RED CROSS SAYS THE BEST WAY TO HELP IS MONETARY DONATIONS

As the Red Cross seeks donations to aid the east coast storm victims, NorthPark and SouthPark Malls encourage our shoppers to do their part. The American Red Cross is advising that the greatest way to make a positive impact is to simply give donations in the form of money to help with the primary needs of food, water, shelter and medical help.

Starting today, there will be a collection site located at Guest Services, which is located at Younkers Court in NorthPark and in the Management Office at SouthPark Mall. Both Malls are partnering with the American Red Cross to collect such monetary donations in the form of cash or check.

Donations will also be accepted online at www.redcross.org/hurricane-sandy. More information is available at www.north-park-mall-ia.com or www.shopsouthparkmall-il.com. With a few simple clicks, donations will directly impact those in need.

How much help we can provide in the coming days will be determined in part by your generosity right now. As the storm's effects become more widespread, more people will need our help.

With your help, the Red Cross has already:Opened shelters in 7 states, deploying more than 1,000 Red Cross workers to support
  • relief efforts
  • Mobilized nearly 170 Emergency Response Vehicles to move at a moment's notice
  • Secured more than 230,000 shelf-stable meals
  • Readied thousands of supplies such as cots, comfort kits and clean up kits

Subway is now open at NorthPark Mall

With over 37,000 restaurants in 99 countries, Subway is now open at
NorthPark Mall. The delicious menu offers something for everyone. Try
one of their fresh fit sandwiches, breakfast wraps or $5 Footlongs™ for
breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Subway will be the 13th food option inside the mall, along with Olive
Garden in the outer perimeter. Subway is located next to Icing. For more

NorthPark Mall, SouthPark Mall and National Geographic Kids Magazine Set Out to Break TWO Guinness World Records® Titles for Running AND Recycling

Local NorthPark and SouthPark Malls in Davenport, IA and Moline, IL to hold run and shoe collection

WHAT:Davenport, IA and Moline, IL- based NorthPark and SouthPark Malls will help National Geographic Kids magazine set TWO Guinness World Records® titles: Most people to run 100 meters in 24 hours AND the longest chain of shoes. (They'll be recycled into athletic surfaces). To break the record, more than 5,000 people worldwide need to run 100 meters between noon ET October 26, 2012, and noon ET October 27, 2012, and more than 25,000 shoes will need to be collected and sent to National Geographic Society headquarters by November 9, 2012. Visit kids.nationalgeographic.com/run-for-the-planet for official rules, additional locations, and other information.

The initiative?called Run for the Planet?inspires kids and families to do something good for their health and the environment. Run for the Planet supports First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move! campaign, which encourages people to get healthy and active.

National Geographic Kids magazine encourages kids and families to get teams, classmates, organizations and communities to join them in setting the magazine's sixth and seventh Guinness World Records. People can also take a pledge to run on the National

(Ways to Enhance Children's Activity & Nutrition)®.

WHO: Group of 50 runners will participate in the challenge by running 100 meters.
