DAVENPORT, IOWA (April 18, 2019) — Davenport Public Library will host three free seminars by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) for the friends and families of those who live with mental-health conditions. The seminars will be led by Vicki Walters, a trained professional with first-hand experience supporting a loved-one with a mental-health condition.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (April 17, 2019) — Author and actress Dana Davis is returning to Davenport to celebrate the release of her second YA novel, “The Voice in My Head”. Join us for a discussion with Dana, a North High School alumna, on Thursday, May 30, 6PM, at Fairmount (3000 N Fairmount St) led by the awesome staff of LOVE Girls, a local girls empowerment-organization and magazine. A book-signing will follow the discussion.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (April 12, 2019) — The Library is excited to announce that we have added an exciting new Community Experience Pass. Now available to patrons at each of our three locations are Niabi Zoo Passes! Each pass is checked out for one week and admits up to two adults and four children. The Niabi Zoo opens on May 18, so hurry in and get your passes!

DAVENPORT, IOWA (April 12, 2019) — The Library welcomes the MUGZ Club for a complete homebrewing demonstration, from grain to glass. Join us Saturday, May 4, at 1PM at Eastern (6000 Eastern Ave) for this unique class that will emphasize equipment and technique for the absolute beginner. If you can boil water, you can brew!

At the City Council Meeting on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, the announcement was made that all Juvenile Materials in the Davenport Public Library will be deemed fine-free beginning April 8, to kick off National Library Week.
