Mr. President,

WASHINGTON – Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) introduced bipartisan legislation along with Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) and Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.V.) to restore veterans’ Second Amendment rights. Under current practice, once the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) assigns a fiduciary to help a veteran manage benefit payments, the VA will report that veteran’s name to the National Criminal Instant Background Check System (NICS), commonly known as the national gun ban list.

Sen. Grassley has been a watchdog for good government and taxpayers for many years and has conducted extensive oversight work of the Department of Defense (DOD).

WASHINGTON – Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) called on Attorney General Jeff Sessions to update instructions provided to Justice Department component agencies that did not appear to comply with the law.

WASHINGTON – A recent poll, commissioned by the Justice Action Network and conducted by Public Opinion Strategies, indicates overwhelming support for reforms to America’s criminal justice system.

WASHINGTON – In their continued efforts to secure the previously authorized funding for the Cedar Rapids flood mitigation project, U.S. Sens. Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst and Congressman Rod Blum sent a letter to Lieutenant General of the Army Corps of Engineers Todd Semonite and Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works R.D. James requesting further information on how the Army Corps makes certain project funding decisions.
