NONPROFIT GAINS SUPPORT FROM LARGE NORTH AMERICAN COMPANY

PORT BYRON, IL - The Nick Teddy Foundation is thrilled to announce it has been chosen as a recipient of a grant from TransCanada in the amount of $1,000.00.

"We are proud to be part of the energy and enthusiasm surrounding this community initiative," said Doug Larson of TransCanada.

"I continue to be overwhelmed by the support and generosity of others," said Executive Director of the Nick Teddy Foundation Holly Larson. "It's great for TransCanada to get on board to help us make a difference in the lives of those affected by Ewing's Sarcoma."

The grant will assist the Nick Teddy Foundation in providing funds for the Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative. The Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative works to award sarcoma research grants to expert investigators around the world.

The Nick Teddy Foundation was established in 2012 in memory of Nicholas Theodore Strub, 29, who fought a courageous battle against the rare cancer, Ewing's Sarcoma.

MORE THAN 200 RUNNERS COULD SET RECORD FOR LARGEST 5K IN PORT BYRON

PORT BYRON, IL - The Nick Teddy Foundation, in partnership with Nelson Chiropractic, isthrilled to announce more than 200 runners have registered to fight Ewing's Sarcoma at the firstannual "Nick Teddy Fight Against Ewing's Sarcoma 5k."

"We are well on our way to make this one of the largest races in Port Byron history!" said RaceDirector Holly Larson of Port Byron, Ill.

GYM GIVES NEW MEMBERS OPPORTUNITY TO SUPPORT NICK TEDDY FOUNDATION

PORT BYRON, IL - The Nick Teddy Foundation, in partnership with Nelson Chiropractic, is excited to announce a new, long-term partnership with Core Fitness Bettendorf.

Core Fitness Bettendorf has provided generous contributions for the "Nick Teddy Fight Against Ewing's Sarcoma 5k." The gym will be giving away four 3-month gym memberships to 5k participants.

Additionally, 5k runners will have the opportunity to give five dollars each month to the Nick Teddy Foundation by signing up for a 1-year membership at Core Fitness Bettendorf. For each race participant who signs up for a 1-year membership during the 5k, Core Fitness Bettendorf has agreed to donate five dollars every month to the Nick Teddy Foundation for an entire year!

Nick Teddy Foundation Announces Major Sponsors for Sept. 5k

EXELON GENERATION SPONSORS LOCAL 5K, GIVES THOUSANDS IN SUPPORT

PORT BYRON, IL - The Nick Teddy Foundation, in partnership with Nelson Chiropractic, is pleased to announce an additional sponsor of "Nick Teddy Fight Against Ewing's Sarcoma 5K."

Platinum Sponsor Exelon Generation is one of the largest employers in the Quad Cities area. It has provided the Nick Teddy Foundation with a significant financial contribution to help make the foundation's first 5k a success.

29-year old Port Byron native Nick Strub fought a courageous battle against Ewing's Sarcoma for more than 5-years. Nick's dad, Brian, is a retired employee of Exelon Generation.

"The Strubs are a long time part of the Exelon Generation family," said Bill Stoermer, spokesperson from the Quad Cities Generating Station. "It's very important for us to help the Strub family honor the legacy of their son in his hometown."

"Exelon recognizes the importance of helping communities thrive, and the Nick Teddy Foundation's mission fits Exelon's outreach goals," Stoermer added.

The "Nick Teddy Fight Against Ewing's Sarcoma 5k" will take place on Sept. 15, 2012, beginning at 9:00 AM, and offers a fun day for hundreds of participants and their families.

PORT BYRON, IL - The Nick Teddy Foundation, in partnership with Nelson Chiropractic, is excited to announce its first event, the "Nick Teddy 5K." The event starts at 9:00 AM on Sat., September 15, 2012, and offers a fun day for hundreds of participants and their families.

More than 50 people have already registered to hit the pavement in memory of Nicholas Theodore Strub, 29, a native of Port Byron, Ill., a 2000 graduate of Riverdale High School, and a 2004 Alumnus of Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. Nick fought a courageous battle against the rare cancer, Ewing's Sarcoma, for more than 5-years.

All proceeds from the "Nick Teddy 5k" will benefit the Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative. The Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative works to award sarcoma research grants to expert investigators around the world. Proceeds from the Nick Teddy 5k will be used for Ewing's Sarcoma research.
