Coursera is an online learning-platform with over 4,300 courses available from a variety of academic institutions and organizations worldwide.

DES MOINES, IOWA (June 19, 2020) Iowa’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased to 10.0 percent in May. The state’s jobless rate was 2.7 percent one year ago. The U.S. unemployment rate dropped to 13.3 percent in May.

DES MOINES, IOWA (June 18, 2020) The number of initial claims in Iowa, filed between Sunday, June 7, and Saturday, June 13, was 9,516. There were 8,717 initial claims by individuals who work and live in Iowa, and 799 claims by individuals who work in Iowa and live in another state. The number of continuing weekly unemployment claims for June 7-13 was 154,752, down 3,516 from the previous week.

DES MOINES, IOWA (May 29, 2020) — Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) today released information regarding two new unemployment benefit programs available to Iowans. Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC), was created by The CARES Act and provides an additional 13 weeks of federally funded benefits to individuals who have exhausted their 26 weeks of regular state unemployment benefits.

DES MOINES, IOWA (May 28, 2020) — The number of initial claims in Iowa, filed between Sunday, May 17, and Saturday, May 23, was 14,586. There were 13,365 initial claims by individuals who work and live in Iowa, and 1,221 claims by individuals who work in Iowa and live in another state.

The number of continuing weekly unemployment claims was 180,679.

Unemployment insurance benefit payments totaled $48,828,481.83 for the same week.

DES MOINES, IOWA (May 22, 2020) — Iowa’s seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate increased to 10.2 percent in April. The state’s jobless rate was 2.7 percent one year ago. The US unemployment rate rose to 14.7 percent in April.

DES MOINES, IOWA (May 21, 2020) — The number of initial claims in Iowa, filed between Sunday, May 10, and Saturday, May 16, was 13,040. There were 12,011 initial claims by individuals who work and live in Iowa, and 1,029 claims by individuals who work in Iowa and live in another state.
