January 18th-21st - Be a Tourist in Your Own Backyard Weekend! Welcome visitors to LeClaire's shops, hotels, restaurants and other establishments!

January 19^th - LeClaire Lions Club Annual Blood Drive facilitated by the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center - 7:00 to 11:00 AM in the Bridgeview Elementary School Cafeteria. Any first-time or long-time blood donors are welcome. Snacks and beverages will be provided to donors that morning. Please contact Tony Hiatt at 563-332-0215 to sign up for an appointment to donate.

January 19th: Family Night - LeClaire Rec Center - Indoor Recess, Open Gym for the Whole Family, 5:30-8:00 p.m. Board games, card games, sports and more! The 3rd Saturday of each month. All events are $2 per person 4 years old and older (unless otherwise specified), concessions extra. Please check our Facebook page for updates or changes to events. February 8^th - Reusable Usables NEW Freezer Meal Workshop 6:30 PM.  Cooking is MUCH more fun with friends!!  Let's get together and make enough meals to fill our freezers!  Bring your bags filled with designated "protein" and other groceries. You go home with 10 meals, each feeding a family of 4-6, ready to freeze (with leftover Wildtree products to make more freezer recipes or use on your own.)  You'll also go home with side dish recipes to either accompany your freezer meals or use with other meals...and the peace of mind of knowing that dinner is already DONE!  Just thaw, cook and enjoy!   $73 (includes all Wildtree products, recipes and shipping) To register, reserve your spot by 1/23/13 and Purchase the "Crockpot Meals" Workshop by 1/23/13. February 9th - Trivia Night - LeClaire Civic Center benefiting the Coe Noack Memorial Scholarship. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with trivia starting at 7 p.m. Participants may bring beer, wine, snacks and soda. Water and snacks will also be for sale. Up to eight people per table. $10 per person with a $50 table minimum. Everyone will be entered into a drawing for door prizes. February 24^th - The Buffalo Bill Museum will Celebrate Buffalo Bill's Birthday! 12 noon to 4 p.m. (closing). Refreshments, free admission, and a "Buffalo Bill & Annie Oakley Look-Alike Contest" for children (Judging at 2pm). Hope to see everyone there! www.buffalobillmuseumleclaire.com

The folks at Buffalo Bill Museum hope to see you over the winter! It is a great place to take visiting family and friends and "free admission" is a benefit of your membership! The gift shop is also a great place to pick up unique items as well as books about local history, "Buffalo Bill" sweatshirts and t-shirts, and other items you can't find elsewhere!  The museum is open daily 9am to 4pm, and Sundays 12noon to 4pm.

Reusable Usables Planet Green After School Classes for kids Ages 6-12. Tuesday's & Thursday's 4:00-5:30 p.m. Learn creative fun ways to respect our planet with hands on eco-friendly art and educational activities based on the Iowa DNR Planet Patrol Series. During the past weeks the employees of Ascentra have been busy brightening people's lives with random acts of kindness as part of their "Steppin' Up: Paying it Forward" Program.  Over 70 staff members were given $50 each to use in any way they saw fit to help out and surprise any individual or organization of their choice.  The acts range from paying for a stranger's cup of coffee, to multiplying the money by organizing and purchasing supplies for a fundraiser benefiting the Quad Cities Greyhound Association. One employee donated gloves, hats, socks and blankets to The Center in Davenport . A group from the Bettendorf branch put their money together and surprised Family Resources in Davenport with food baskets and turkeys that fed over 60 families at their domestic violence shelter. Senior Account Officer Jeff Gerstel used the opportunity as a teachable moment for his 6-year-old daughter who suggested the money go to a park and together they surprised the Moline Community Development Corporation with a check to help Moline 's Riverside Park get new playground equipment.  Similar acts of kindness took place in Muscatine and Clinton .  See these stories and more at Ascentra's Facebook page at facebook.com/Ascentra.

Asbury United Methodist Church in Bettendorf is looking for a Nursery Childcare Attendant. This is a part-time position, not to exceed 8 hours per week. Interested persons need to be available Sunday mornings as well as occasional weeknights and must be at least 19 years old. We are looking for someone who can provide tender, loving, quality care for infants and toddlers.
