(Boise, ID, June 2, 2017) – Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue and Interior Secretary Ryan K. Zinke joined forces in Boise, Idaho today at the National Incident Fire Command Center (NIFC) for a tour and briefing on the upcoming wildfire season. Following the events, the secretaries sent a memorandum to wildland fire leadership highlighting the importance of inter-departmental collaboration in protecting communities and managing public lands.

The Fall 2017 NOSB meeting will be held October 31 - November 2, 2017 at the Omni Jacksonville Hotel, 245 Water Street, Jacksonville, Florida, 32202; (904) 355-6664.

During the meeting, the Board will discuss various topics, including several petitions pertaining to changes to the National List of Allowed and Prohibited Substances.

(Washington, D.C., May 12, 2017) – U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue today hailed the agreement between the United States and China on several key trade issues, most notably the return of American beef to the Chinese market after a hiatus that began in 2004.

Secretary Perdue issued the following statement:

WASHINGTON, May 10, 2017 – Acting Deputy Under Secretary Roger Glendenning today announced that USDA is providing zero-interest loans to two rural energy providers to help business and residential customers lower energy use and costs.

“Funding commercial, farm and residential energy efficiency investments supports rural economies,” Glendenning said. “These investments save money for consumers, create jobs in the community and help energy providers better manage costs.”
