CORALVILLE, IOWA (December 11, 2023) — The Iowa Bicycle Coalition is visiting nearly 99 local bike shops across the state this week to celebrate “Support Your Local Bike Shop Week.” The event will highlight local bike shops and their economic and community impact.

Executive Director Luke Hoffman said, “Small businesses like your local bike shop grow our economy and workforce by promoting tourism and quality of life. That’s why we’re starting Support Your Local Bike Shop Week by visiting the nearly 99 local bike shops across Iowa — we call it the full Grassley tour.”

Coalition board members, staff, volunteers, and supporters will be visiting local bike shops across the state and posting to social media with the hashtag #IowaBikeShopTour. Visits will take place throughout the week to highlight the impact of local bike shops and their role in building community.

The Iowa Bicycle Coalition is a statewide non-profit organization in Iowa that promotes safe and accessible bicycling in Iowa through education, events, better policy, and growing a community of supporters. Our vision is that bicycling in Iowa is safe, enjoyable, and accessible for all. You can learn more at Iowabicyclecoalition.org.
