DAVENPORT, IOWA (November 12, 2024) Style Encore®, the unique resale concept that specializes in clothing and accessories, for women and men, has announced the grand opening of its location in Davenport at 5252 Elmore Avenue Suite F The brand is known for supporting their local communities by paying cash on the spot all day, every day, for gently-used casual and business clothing, shoes, and accessories geared towards women and men in their late twenties and up. Alyson Weir, a Penn State graduate with an MBA from the University of Hawaii, transitioned from a corporate career and high school teaching career to pursue her passion for entrepreneurship. As an experienced franchisee with her husband owning and running Disc Replay, an electronic resale concept, Weir purchased a Plato’s Closet in Davenport in 2016. After years of waiting for the right opportunity, she is now opening a Style Encore next to her Plato’s Closet location, inspired by the need for a clothing transition from young adult to adult fashion. With the support of her husband, Weir is focused on running both Plato’s Closet and Style Encore to offer women and men the opportunity to feel confident in clothes that fit their evolving needs.

Beginning November 14 and throughout the weekend, local owner Alyson Weir is inviting guests to stop into Style Encore in Davenport to experience the following:

At Style Encore, consumers can expect a wide selection of the latest styles in casual and business attire at great prices, from leading brands such as Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Chico’s, Coach, Gap, Talbots, Lululemon, and White House Black Market, among others. Unlike a typical consignment store, no appointment is necessary to sell clothing and accessories. Customers can achieve savings up to ninety percent off trendy, brand-name clothing and accessories and receive cash on the spot for gently-used items that are outgrown or no longer wanted.

“Our mission is to promote positive body image and help people feel proud in their own skin, while also supporting sustainable, recycled fashion,” said Weir. “After noticing how customers would outgrow Once Upon a Child and Plato’s Closet items, I realized there was a gap for adults looking for stylish, affordable clothing options. With Plato’s Closet next door, Style Encore is the perfect place for adults to continue their shopping journey and find clothes they love and feel confident in.”

Winmark’s resale concepts allow for gently used clothing and accessories to end up in someone else’s closet rather than thrown into a landfill, providing a resource for shoppers who are looking to update their closets in a mindful environmental manner.
