DAVENPORT, IOWA (June 29, 2023) — This July, follow Davenport Parks and Recreation’s social media platforms to celebrate National Park and Recreation Month and learn how parks and recreation enhances the growth of our community through recreation programs, activities, and park amenities.

“Parks and recreation programs have played a central role in helping me grow throughout my life,” said Chad Dyson, Director of Parks and Recreation. “That is why I built a career in this industry. I want to be a part of creating spaces, events, and programs that help my community grow and connect with one another.”

Davenport Parks and Recreation will celebrate to raise awareness for the role parks and recreation professionals play in the community. The parks and recreation industry is an essential part of a healthy, happy life and a thriving, connected community. Join the City this month to “find your fun” and support your local parks and recreation professionals. Get involved in outdoor activities this month including Upcycle That, Youth Fest, Vander Veer Botanical Park’s summer theme scavenger hunt, and Movies in the Park. Learn more about these activities by visiting davenportiowa.com/freefamilyfun.

Park and Recreation Month is an initiative of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA).
