DAVENPORT, IOWA (January 19, 2026) — The QC Environmental Film Series will show Out of Plain Sight, which follows LA Times Environmental Reporter, Rosanna Xia as she uncovers a terrible secret hidden in the depths of the Pacific Ocean — as many as half a million barrels of toxic waste that had been dumped off the coast of Southern California.

Xia explores the story behind this environmental disaster and the long-term implications for people and the environment.

Traveling from Los Angeles to join us, Rosanna Xia will be present to speak and take Q&A immediately following the film at the St Ambrose University Galvin Fine Arts Center.

An hour before the film, ENVIRO Connect will be held in the Galvin Fine Arts Center lobby.

ENVIRO Connect is an opportunity to meet dedicated and knowledgeable environmental organizations and other partners whose missions align with the film’s theme.

The tables for this film will include the North Scott Press, Sierra Club Water Sentinels, Sierra Club Eagle View Group, Nahant Marsh, River Action, and more. Please come early and connect!

Tickets for the film can be purchased at qcenvironmentalfilmseries.org.
