DES MOINES, IOWA (April 12, 2019) — Governor Kim Reynolds today received word that additional-assistance is now available to public and non-profit entities in flood-impacted counties.

A disaster declaration, issued by President Trump on March 23, 2019, made 56 counties eligible to apply for emergency-work and emergency protective-measures assistance under the federal Public Assistance Program.

This proclamation extends the governor’s March 14 activation of Iowa’s disaster-response and recovery efforts for an additional 30 days, to May 12, 2019, and allows state-resources to be utilized to respond to and recover from the effects of this severe weather across the entire state.
