John Charles named 2017 Hy-Vee Legendary Customer Service Award recipient

DAVENPORT, Iowa (Aug. 25, 2017) — John Charles, meat market manager at the Northgate Hy-Vee, is known as the “ambassador of friendliness” and is often referenced as the perfect example of a great Hy-Vee employee to both new and existing employees.

Davenport, IA – On Aug 31st, approx. 100 Veterans, including 2 WWII veterans, will travel to Washington, D.C to visit the monuments dedicated to their service and sacrifice. This is the 9 th Honor Flight of the Quad Cities that area Hy-Vee stores have sponsored.

On Wednesday, Aug 30th, Hy-Vee is hosting a pre-flight dinner for these veterans, a guest and their guardians.

MOUNT CARROLL – Timber Lake Playhouse will present the much acclaimed and Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, Million Dollar Quartet, Friday, September 8th through Sunday, September 17th in Mount Carroll. The production, directed by Courtney Crouse, will play a total of eight performances over two weekends.

The Rock Island Human Rights Commission recognizes and honors the service of Javier Perez. Mr. Perez served on the commission from 2014 – 2017, including a term as Chair for two years. Javier served the Commission with distinction, bringing his considerable passion to ensure that all Rock Island citizens have an avenue to preserve their human rights. He truly was a rock solid Rock Islander.
