Now that summer has arrived, it is a time for family vacations, backyard barbeques and plenty of outdoor activities with food as the centerpiece. But before those steaks and burgers go on the grill, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) wants to remind consumers to keep their family and themselves safe from foodborne illness by using a food thermometer to ensure meat and poultry is cooked to the correct internal temperature.

The 23rd annual HOT ROD Power Tour returns in 2017 as the highly anticipated seven-day, seven-city journey is expected to bring together more than 6,000 vehicles June 10-16, 2017. 

The HOT ROD Power Tour stops in Davenport on Monday, June 12 at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds.  This spectacle of cars is open free to the public 12-6 p.m.
