Churches United of the Quad City Area is very thankful to The Rock Island Arsenal Welcome Club for their $1,000.00 grant in support of our Hunger Program in the Quad City Area. This grant was awarded through the Welcome Club’s Community Support program.

APRIL 19, 2017 – Iowa City, Iowa – WITNESS a powerful production listening to the memoirs of a young Jewish girl this April as Iowa City Community Theatre presents a new translation by Wendy Kesselman of THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett and directed by Rachel Korach Howell, APRIL 21-30.

On Thursday, April 20, 2017, the Sheriff’s Office presented a Life Saving Award immediately following the promotional ceremony at 9:00 a.m. in the Sheriff’s Office Administrative Conference Room in the Scott County Courthouse.

Scott County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Joe Caffery and Deputy Dan Grafton are the recipients of the Life Saving Award.

Maine East High School is first stop on Learning Tour

PARK RIDGE – Governor Rauner today toured Maine East High School to see the innovative ways students are learning and to congratulate them on receiving the most votes in his recent #GovClassroomVisit contest.

Davenport, IA- 3/7/17 - Mandala Integrative Medicine will host the Women’s Integrative Lifestyle Forum (WILF) on Saturday, May 13th, 2017 from 9am-3pm at the Rhythm City Casino in Davenport, Iowa. The WILF will bring information to the public in a live, interactive format. While there are similar forums targeted towards physicians, this event will allow women to learn how to make lifestyle changes based on integrative medicine in a supportive environment and have fun doing it.

Grassley: Trump’s H-1B Executive Order Protects American Workers; Prioritizes Visas for Most-Qualified Applicants

WASHINGTON – Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, an author of legislation to reform the H-1B and L-1 skilled work visa programs, made the following statement regarding President Trump’s executive order to protect American workers and prioritize H-1B visas for the most-skilled applicants:

Reaffirms administration’s efforts to change broken system

CHAMPAIGN – Governor Bruce Rauner today toured II-VI EpiWorks and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to fostering innovation and technology in Illinois.

The Quad Cities Astronomical Society, in partnership with Bettendorf High School, will hold a solar viewing event at the high school on Saturday, April 29, from 2 to 6 p.m.  The event is free and open to the public.

During the event, members of the Quad Cities Astronomical Society will set up telescopes that provide safe viewing of the sun near the school’s main entrance on Middle Road.

Bandits homestand begins Thursday with Clinton

It’s all part of the twelfth annual “Safer Sacks” initiative by The Safer Foundation. Participating businesses and organizations have ordered sandwich lunches that volunteers will deliver to workplaces or diners will pick up for carry-out.
