The city of Davenport will observe Independence Day as a holiday on Tuesday, July 4th, 2017 City of Davenport offices & the Public Works Center will be closed. Police Department front desk and records office will be closed. Parks and Recreation administrative offices and River’s Edge facility will be closed. Adler Theatre box office will be closed. Library Main, Fairmount and Eastern branches will be closed. Vander Veer Conservatory will be closed. CitiBus service will not be provided.

DeKALB, Ill. (June 21, 2017) - Northern Illinois University announces its spring 2017 Dean's List students. To earn this distinction, students must meet a minimum semester grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale in the College of Engineering and Engineering Technology or a minimum of 3.75 on a 4.0 scale in the colleges of Business, Education, Health and Human Sciences, Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Visual and Performing Arts.

WASHINGTON – Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley is calling on Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Scott Gottlieb to examine legislative proposals and collaborate with other government agencies to increase consumer access to affordable prescription medications.

LINCOLN, NE (06/20/2017)-- More than 4,400 University of Nebraska-Lincoln students have been named to the Deans' List for the spring semester of the 2016-17 academic year.

The following students earned designation on the Dean's List:

Rock Island: Joseph Philibert, senior, College of Engineering, chemical engineering.

Bettendorf: Abigail Kurth, junior, Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts, music.

June 21st, 2017 in Quad Cities, IA - On Wed. July 19th the locally owned Olive Tree Cafés will donate a percentage of proceeds from meals to the 46th Annual Quad Cities CROP Hunger Walk.

The Amana Arts Guild Gallery in High Amana will display an exhibit of recent works by local area artists from July 6 through September 4. The Greater Amana Area Art Show includes all media from folk arts to fine art.  An open house is planned for Thursday July 6, 2017 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. 

ROLLA, Mo. (June 20, 2017) - Missouri University of Science and Technology announces the names of students who made the honor list for the Spring 2017 semester. To be included on the honor list, students must have carried a minimum of 12 hours and had grade point averages of 3.2 or above out of a possible 4.0.
