DAVENPORT, IOWA (April 10, 2025) — A press conference announcing Ride the Island, a new family bike ride on Arsenal Island on Father’s Day, June 15, 2025, will be held, April 15, 10AM, at the Quad City Times parking lot, Davenport, headquarters and start for the Father’s Day ride.

Ride the Island celebrates fathers and our beautiful Arsenal Island trails at the same time it celebrates 250 years of the United States Army.

DES MOINES, IOWA (April 9, 2025) — Governor Kim Reynolds has issued a proclamation setting Tuesday, April 29, 2025, as the date for a special election in Iowa House District 78 following the resignation of Iowa State Representative Sami Scheetz on April 1, 2025.

Iowa Code section 69.14 outlines the authority given to the governor to set a special election.
