Senator Chuck Grassley made the following statement after the U.S. Department of Agriculture made available additional information about farm payments being received by general partnerships and joint ventures through people using the "active personal management only."

The figures are a more detailed look at information provided in a Government Accountability Office report that Grassley released last month.  According to the GAO report, entities set up as General Partnerships received about $159 million while entities set up as Joint Ventures received $12 million in 2012 through extra 'active personal management only' persons.  Click here to see the breakdown by state of the information provided by the Department of Agriculture. The amounts going to states through this loophole range from more than $52 million per year to nearly $1,000 per year.

"More than $172 million went out the door in 2012 through this loophole.  The data provided by the Department of Agriculture shows that the loophole is exploited by some states more than others.  The loophole is closed in both the House and Senate bills, yet it's still a discussion point.  The United States has a $17 trillion debt, unsustainable entitlements, and record land prices, yet we're hearing some members of Congress still don't want to tighten the law that would do nothing more than prevent a few of the  biggest, wealthiest farmers from exploiting taxpayers."

East Moline, IL/November 26, 2013 - On Sunday, December 1, 2013 Living Lands & Waters will host a viewing party for the airing of CNN Heroes: An All Star Tribute at the Quad Cities Waterfront Convention Center located at 2021 State Street in Bettendorf, IA. The Tribute will air on Sunday, December 1st at 7pm CST.

Earlier in the evening, Jason Biggs, one of the stars of 'Orange is the New Black' presented Pregracke with an award as one of the Top 10 CNN Heroes of 2013. Each of the Top 10 CNN Heroes received $50,000 in recognition of their work, and Pregracke's nonprofit, Living Lands and Waters, will receive an additional $250,000 grant.

The evening's celebrity presenters were Sarah Silverman, Kelly Ripa, Michael Strahan, Mariska Hargitay, Alan Cumming, Allison Williams, Shay Mitchell, Jason Biggs, Jeffrey Wright, Josh Lucas, and Ne-Yo, each of whom introduced a story about the honorees.

The 2013 Top 10 CNN Heroes include Dale Beatty (Statesville, NC), Georges Bwelle (Yaoundé, Cameroon), Robin Emmons (Charlotte, NC), Danielle Gletow (Trenton, NJ), Tawanda Jones (Camden, NJ), Richard Nares (San Diego, CA), Kakenya Ntaiya (Enoosaen, Kenya), Estella Pyfrom (West Palm Beach, FL), and Laura Stachel (Berkeley, CA).

Contributing their talents to the festive night were pop singer Sarah Bareilles, who performed a touching rendition of her current hit "Brave," and stand-up comedian Jim Gaffigan.  Another highlight of the evening was a performance by members of CNN Hero Tawanda Jones' girls drill team, Camden Sophisticated Sisters, to Beyonce's "Get Me Bodied."

CNN Heroes is a multi-platform campaign that shines a spotlight on individuals who go to extraordinary lengths to serve others. Since its inception, CNN Heroes has received over 50,000 submissions from more than 100 countries and profiled over 200 heroes.

QUACK TRACKS
Shootout Out West
The Mallards earned two points for a pair of 3-2 shootout losses last weekend in Arizona. The Mallards came from behind to tie both of those games in the third period. Saturday night's game ended controversially as the Mallards argued that Gabriel Levesque scored what should have been the tying goal in the final round of the shootout but it was ruled that Sundogs goaltender Chris Rawlings gloved Levesque's bid just before it crossed the goal line.

Trifecta
Each of the Mallards' last three games has gone to the shootout. The Mallards have gone 1-2 during that stretch and are 1-3 in shootouts on the season. This marks the first time the Mallards have reached the shootout in three consecutive games since going to successive shootouts on January 8, January 10 and January 15, 2010 while in the International Hockey League.

Upswing
The Mallards have suffered just one regulation loss in their last six games, a stretch during which they have gone 3-1-2.

Goals, Goals, Goals
The Mallards have scored a total of six regulation goals in their last four games after scoring at least four goals in six of their first seven games. The Mallards, who until last weekend led the league in goals per game, now rank second in that category (3.7), just behind Rapid City (3.8).

Stingy
The Mallards have allowed just two (non-shootout) goals in each of their last three games and have given up three goals or fewer in each of their last six games.

Catch-Up
The Mallards have played fewer games (11) than any other CHL club. The league-leading Rush have played the next fewest (13) while the Tulsa Oilers, who the Mallards on Saturday night will meet for the first time this season, have already played a league high 18 games.

Rookie Roll
Rookie Thomas Frazee has recorded eight points (two goals and six assists) in his last eight games.

Between The Pipes
Thomas Heemskerk remains unbeaten in regulation (2-0-1) after making 29 saves in last Friday's shootout setback. That game was Heemskerk's first with the Mallards since returning from a brief stint with the American Hockey League's Iowa Wild. Ty Rimmer made 31 saves one night later while making his fourth start in the Mallards' last five games, a stretch during which he has gone 2-1-1 with a 2.40 goals against average and a .924 save percentage.

Leaders
Mike Monfredo is tied for sixth among CHL defensemen in assists (7)...Thomas Frazee ranks fifth among rookies in assists and is tied for seventh seventh among rookies in points (8).

Milestones
Gabriel Levesque played his one hundredth career game last Friday at Arizona...Terry Ruskowski has won 414 games as a CHL coach and is one win away from tying Chris Stewart for third place all-time among CHL coaches in victories (415)...Matt Duffy has notched 99 career points...Darren McMillan has collected 95 career CHL assists

Special Teams
The Mallards rank sixth in the CHL in power play efficiency (16.4 percent) and lead the league in power plays per game (6.1). The Mallards, who have successfully completed 14 consecutive penalty kills, rank third in penalty killing (84.2 percent). The Mallards last Friday gave up a shorthanded goal for the second time this season; last Saturday Thomas Frazee scored the Mallards' first shorthanded goal of the year.

Head to Head
This Wednesday's game is the first of ten meetings this season between the Mallards and Mavericks. The Mallards last season went 7-6-0 overall and 4-3-0 on the road against Missouri. All-time the Mallards have gone 14-12-2 against the Mavericks and have posted a 9-6-0 record in Independence...The Mallards have gone 2-0-1 against the expansion Chill this season and have won each of the clubs' prior two meetings at the iWireless Center. Mikes Hellyer (four goals and three assists) and Stinziani (three goals and four assists) piled up seven points apiece over the first three games between the two clubs...The Mallards and Oilers will open their four-game season series this Saturday. The Mallards last season went 4-2-0 overall and 3-1-0 at home against Tulsa. All-time the Mallards have gone 6-5-0 against the Oilers overall and 4-3-0 at home.

Giving Back is Always in Style with a Minimum of 50 percent of Holiday Necklace Sales Supporting the Fight Against Cancer

Duluth, Minn., November 25, 2013 - The holidays are officially upon us and women's fashion retailer maurices is getting into the spirit and asking its shoppers to join in helping to spread hope all yearlong! Dedicated to being simply the best hometown retailer, this year maurices continues to support the charitable efforts of the American Cancer Society in style with the introduction of their new Holiday Necklace.

The 2013 Holiday Necklace includes three fashionable necklaces packaged together and comes in both silver and gold. Retailing for $12, the company will contribute a minimum of $6.00 from the sale price of every necklace to the American Cancer Society to support its mission to finish the fight against cancer by helping people stay well and get well, by finding cures, and by fighting back. This year, through sales of the new Holiday Necklace, the company hopes to raise more than $400,000 helping to make a difference in the lives of those families impacted by cancer.

"We all know someone who has been directly affected by cancer and it's a cause that is extremely important to the maurices family," said Brad Hartmann SVP, Chief Creative Officer. "Holidays are a time for giving and we are excited to introduce the latest addition to our accessories collection and offer consumers a gift that gives back in a big way."

For the last nine years, maurices partnership with the American Cancer Society has raised more than $8 million for the organization from combined fundraising efforts within their retail stores through the sales of custom designed jewelry, in-store fundraisers and corporate financial contributions.  Now through January 5, 2014 (or while supplies last), maurices invites consumers to join in the fight against cancer by purchasing the necklace set at one of the more than 875 stores nationwide or online.

"With the help of corporate partners like maurices, we can offer a tremendous amount of support to those battling this disease, said Lin Mac Master, chief revenue and marketing officer for the American Cancer Society. We are so appreciative of maurices ongoing commitment to help us finish the fight against cancer and are excited to work together again during the holiday season."

Customers can also help maurices make the Thanksgiving holiday extra special by helping to raise an additional $30,000 for American Cancer Society by sharing what makes you #HolidayHappy. Now through November 28, for each Instagram post or Tweet received using #HolidayHappy, maurices will donate $1 to the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge® program. The Society's network of 31 Hope Lodge facilities provides cancer patients and their caregivers free accommodations when their best hope for treatment takes them away from home. With a minimum $10,000 donation from maurices, your #HolidayHappy posts will provide cancer patients and their families with a delicious Thanksgiving meal at Hope Lodge locations across the country.

As a hometown specialty retailer, maurices also empowers associates to give back to their community. Associates work within their communities to host in-store contribution drives, collect food or toys during the holidays, and put together care packages for our troops overseas. Visit your local maurices store to find out about more ways you can help make a difference in your own neighborhood.

With styles that match every budget and occasion - in sizes 1-24 - whether our customers are looking for something for work, for home or for a night out, they know maurices is the destination to express their individuality and feel good about themselves.
