Andy Schroeder chosen as Hy-Vee’s 2015 Staff Member of the Year

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa (Jan. 8, 2016) — Rock Island, Illinois, native Andy Schroeder has been named to the Hy-Vee Hall of Fame. Schroeder, assistant vice president of financial reporting, was inducted as the 2015 Staff Member of the Year at the company’s annual stockholders’ meeting last month.

Schroeder was chosen for the honor by his peers, who noted he continually looks for ways to improve the accounting department and shows strong leadership skills.

“Andy has a strong work ethic and is a great leader in his department,” said Randy Edeker, Hy-Vee chairman, CEO and president. “Andy’s contributions to Hy-Vee do not go unnoticed. He is an asset to our company.”

Schroeder joined the Hy-Vee internal audit department in 2009. The next year, he was promoted to financial reporting manager in the accounting department. In 2013, Schroeder was named assistant director of financial reporting, and in 2015, he was promoted to his current position of assistant vice president of financial reporting.

Schroeder graduated from Alleman Catholic High School in Rock Island. In 2009, he graduated with honors from Drake University in Des Moines with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and management. Schroeder received his Masters of Accounting degree from Drake University in 2010.
