Explore the vivid and vibrant works of Gene Brack and Colleen Curry at Beréskin Art Gallery & Studio's latest show, "Postscripts of a Decade: A Walk in the Woods", on display September 25 - October 22, 2016.
Brack's bold paintings and Curry's textural fabric sculptures pair harmoniously to create a feast for the eyes and soul. "The work of both artists is creative, energetic, and full of joy," says gallery director Pat Bereskin.
Brack, who hails from Alberta, Canada, began oil painting ten years ago, impulsively following the bread crumbs of the reckless creative process. His work reflects the trappings of daily life as well as the challenges of the human experience.
Curry, from Donahue, Iowa, takes inspiration from the natural world. Her Fantasy Forest, created entirely out of her hand-dyed and hand-painted fabrics, gourds, and surface designs, is a celebration of the strength and structure of the humble tree.
The public is invited to an artist reception and Wine Walk on September 30 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. This Final Friday event will include a tasting of new wines presented in glasses hand-painted by local artists.
"Postscripts of a Decade: A Walk in the Woods" will be on display at Bereskin Fine Art Gallery from September 25 through October 22. In addition to the Final Friday event, the public is invited to view the artists' work during the gallery's regular operating hours, Wednesday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Bereskin Fine Art Gallery is located at 225 E. 2nd St., Suites 102 and 104, Davenport, Iowa, 52801. For more information, contact owner Pat Bereskin at 563-508-4630 or bereskinartgallery@gmail.com, or visit the gallery's website at www.bereskinartgallery.com.
