The Salvation Army of the Quad Cities and the Quad City Mallards partnered this year for the Red Kettle Kick Off. It was revealed during the first intermission that the Red Kettle campaign goal for 2016 is a hefty $815,000.
The exciting goal reveal was witnessed by nearly 7,600 people who attended the Mallards game on November 19th against the Wheeling Nailers. This campaign is a community-wide effort and The Salvation Army’s most important fund raiser of the year. 60% of the annual budget is raised during these six weeks.
So far, The Salvation Army of the Quad Cities is in need of more bell ringers.
“We are not seeing our usual number of volunteers that we have in the past, it is a little concerning,” noted Major Gary Felton. “Bell ringers are so important, if there is no one ringing the bell, people don’t donate.”
You can support The Salvation Army of the Quad Cities through placing your donation in the red kettles or volunteering to ring bells. 100 percent of the money raised in the Quad Cities through the Red Kettle Campaign stays here in the community to fund life changing programs in Scott and Rock Island County.
