Tickets Go on Sale July 20 at Participating O'Reilly Locations
The new agreement teams O'Reilly Auto Parts, one of the nation's largest specialty retailers of automotive aftermarket parts, with the world's longest continually-running drag racing event. Discounted admission tickets to the 64th annual World Series of Drag Racing, presented by O'Reilly Auto Parts, will available starting July 20 at participating O'Reilly Auto Parts stores.
In addition, O'Reilly Auto Parts has been named the Official Auto Parts Store of Cordova International Raceway.
"This is a perfect partnership for O'Reilly Auto Parts and the World Series of Drag Racing with how much both brands mean to the Quad Cities region," Cordova International Raceway President Dominic Blasco said. "We're pleased to be working with O'Reilly Auto Parts at the World Series of Drag Racing and our other events throughout the year."
Started in Lawrenceville, Ill., in 1953, the World Series of Drag Racing has featured many of the world's best drag racers in a family-friendly event.
Three-time Top Fuel World Champion Larry Dixon, a 62-time NHRA national event winner, and Del Worsham, one of only three men to win World Championships in Top Fuel and Funny Car, headline this year's entries. Besides their entries, other racing machines on the schedule include: Nitro Funny Cars, Jet Dragsters, Fuel Altered Dragsters, Midwest Nostalgia Pro Stocks, Nostalgia Gassers, Chicagoland Super Stocks, Victory Nostalgia Street Stocks and Richard Hutchins' famed Chevy Rebellion Wheelstander.
