The Quad City Steamwheelers Professional Indoor Football Team is gearing up for not only a return to the Quad Cities, but the efforts to bring home a 3rd National Championship. This kind of effort takes a lot of focus on recruiting of former division 1 and NFL caliber talent. The Steamwheeler staff has been working non-stop since the opening of free agency on Oct 1st.

The Steamwheelers are proud to announce the signing of Running Back Tyler Williams, a 2017 member of the Wichita Falls Nighthawks of the IFL, who lead the league in Total Yards. He is an explosive player in multiple facets of the game. "This guy has it all, stop and go speed, he's patient, creates openings, makes guys miss, you name it, he can do it, he's that much of a versatile player," said Head Coach, Cory Ross.

Tyler Williams played Division 1 football at the University of Akron and was signed by the Wichita Nighthawks of the IFL where he was named the IFL special teams player of the year and broke the IFL record of 2,554 all purpose yards along with being named 2nd Team All League at running back. Williams accounted for 29 TD’s for the season, 17 Rushing, 9 Receiving, 2 Kick Returns and 1 fumble recovery for a score.

Coach Ross explained, "we held an open tryout back in October and signed some really solid and explosive regional players. We have a camp roster we need to fill in preparation for the season and we are recruiting like crazy to bring the best talent available to camp." He added, "you bring in the best, and everyone responds to give their best."
