Photography of the Tri-State Area and beyond, January 15th through February 23rd

Clinton Community College, Clinton, Iowa is pleased to announce their new Photography Exhibit “Artist’s Eye Photography of Henry Matthiessen III” in their Library Gallery beginning January 15th and running through February 23rd

An Artist Reception will be held on January 25th beginning at 4:30 pm in the gallery. The exhibit will feature Henry Matthiessen’s nationally published landscape photography of the Tri-State Area, Mississippi Valley and the United States. Henry is a professional landscape photographer and stone artist who runs his business, Stoned Art Studio and Gallery, from his rural hilltop property near Galena, Illinois. An award-winning photographer, Henry’s photographs have been featured, across the country, in marketing materials for the States of Hawaii, Nevada, California, Oregon, and North Carolina. Locally, his photography has been featured, numerous times, on WMAQ television in Chicago, CBS television in Iowa City, the Chicago Sun Times Newspaper, and is the advertising logo for “Corkless in Galena” an annual wine tasting event.

Working from his studio, Henry extensively photographs the rolling landscape of area, processing, printing and framing each print, for viewing, himself. Henry mentors Galena High School photography students and Stockton High School art students. He also lectures and offers professional photography workshops and tours to individuals and groups, helping others master photography as an art medium.

Along with his photography, the College Library Gallery will have on display Henry’s unique works of art, crafted from stone gathered from various parts of the United States.

Visit his website at www.StonedArtStudio.com to view his photography, stone work, and learn more about his photography workshops.
